I have decided to buy a chrono superocean....i have seen the black dial w/ silver subdials in person. I have never seen the white (silver) face with blue sub dials...looks great on the website. I am going to see if my AD can get the white with blue subs so I can take a look...just curious if you guys had a preference. thanks

I've seen it in person, it's a very nice combo.

I've owned both, and I'm not a "blue" guy... and I preferred the white with blue subs. Gorgeous watch at a great pricepoint.

I wasn't crazy about the white dial when I saw it in person. I would have preferred the white be a little brighter, it almost looks like an off white which I didn't care for.

True. But you would be surprised how white true white is. If it was true white it would be too bright.

I liked the creme or ecru colour of the dial. I think my pic above actually captures teh colour pretty well.

Your picture is spot on Mark. I guess I was just expected a brighter white and that's what I didn't like. If I were going to buy a CSO now, I'd go for the black dial.

Really you can't go wrong with either colour... both great looking watches.

Speaking as a CSO-owner, you can't go wrong either way :)

However, one thing that I really didn't notice to begin with (I have the black dial) is how it looks with different straps on. I have the black leather strap and the Ocean Racer rubber strap and the black dial/black strap/polished steel combination gives it a really nice and contrasty look. The ProII bracelet is great, but I must admit that I haven't used it much after I got the straps. It just looks better, IMHO. And of course, even though the bracelet is rock solid the straps aren't exacly flimsy either.

Well, that just about sums up my two cents.

I own the blue CSO & I love it. I also think the Black dial is a great look. I do not like the white dial at all though, it is more difficult to read. Def take some time to look at it in person. If you like it, go for it, but IMHO the blue dial is the best looking of the 3. Good luck, it's a fantastic watch. You will not be disappointed.

thanks for all the feedback!!! I actually went to the AD tnt and the only SOC he had was the blue dial with white subs. I liked the look alot...the "white" looked really nice as well...but was a bit more "off white" then I was looking for...so now I am down to the blue or black. I know its personal preferance...but just wanted to take a vote. I will be using this as an all occasions watch and wear a suit and tie everyday...so as much as I like the blue I do wonder if its too casual to pull off with a suit...thanks

For versatility, black always wins.

My vote is for white. But it will be your watch. I just prefer the black without the "swirls" on the dial. I have a blue steelfish and love it. I also a a yellow seawolf. It is my opinion that the white / blue looks better with the "swirls" and the black looks better with a flat dial.

If you're going to be wearing a suit everyday, go with the black dial.

try on the cso before you buy, it sits very high on the wrist for a smallish watch (42mm) the case is 15mm plus 2.7mm for the crystal, very stocky looking.
