Out of curiousity, does anyone know how much an AD in the VA are would charge for an adjustment on a watch? Assuming you buy the watch from a seperate AD, how much would an AD charge you?

I reckon you should walk in, and be "interested" in another purchase - play the game.

Then, after looking at a few watches, just casually mention that you would like your bracelet adjusted. It's not rocket science, and will just take them a few minutes.

It shouldn't cost you anything.

Do it yourself. It is really easy with a decent screwdriver. There's a video on this site in the articles section.

Also, as has been pointed out several times on the forum, Breitlings fit best when the clasp is offset to one side - the "normal" way, with the clasp in the center of the bracelet, may not feel right on your Breitling. If you do the sizing yourself, you have the opportunity to play with the clasp position, get the bracelet to fit exactly the way you want.

Furthmore, the link at the Youtube website was unsuccessful too. Anyone know where I might be able to get this video?

Make sure to apply some locktight on the threads to minimize the risk of losing a screw....

Thanks guys, I got the link to work. Very good info there, especially about adjusting for most comfortable fit. Thanks for the help.

The local AD by me charges $20 for Breitlings not bought at their store. I figure it's a small price pay for the savings I get from my regular AD.

I went to my local AD and they didn't charge me anything. I just gave the guy a tip. Oh, and I didn't buy the watch there.

I prefer the do-it-yourself method, and I do with all mine. Bought some reasonable screwdrivers with hardened tips from ebay and they fit very well.

One word of caution though, the screws are very tight new from the factory due to the loctite they use. Even AD's confess to struggling with them so make sure the screwdriver is a snug fit in the screw head.

I'd personally advise against loctite on the threads in case you get any between the pins and links, thus bonding them together making any future adjustments difficult
