I have had my Navitimer for roughly two weeks now. I have no problems of any kind. I let the chronometer run for two days to see if it would cause problems, but none were found. I have it on a black leather strap and plan to wear it as my everyday watch. In fact, I love the watch!!

I am sorry to hear that other people have had problems with the Navitimer series. I think they are absolutely gorgeous and I hope that others will not be turned off by these reports of bad experiences. I have to imagine that, over all, there are far more good Navitimers than bad Navitimers. However, the people with good Navitimers are less likely to post descriptions of them.

Therefore, I call for anyone who has had a good experience with a Navitimer to post a response. If my theory holds true, there should be more happy Navitimer owners than sad.

Post subject:	Navitimer never ending drama
I have owned a Navitimer classic for 1 year now, it has in that time been returned to Brietling twice already with faulty mechanism under warranty, it stop irregularly, also sometimes when using the stop watch the minute & hour hands don't move, then next time they will?? Gains 1 minute of time one week, then loses 3 or 4 minutes the next. I am a helicopter pilot that needs a reliable watch, sadly this ain't it. I am bitterly disappointed with my whole experience with the Navitimer. Hardy Bros. Jewellers in Brisbane have been great they are going to replace the watch free of charge with an Airwolf. Hope it is more reliable & trust-able.

I'm sorry to hear your story, my Montbrillant Olympus (which is also a navitimer) has held perfect time for the 5 months I have owned it. It continues to hold good time, unless I do no wear it for more than 42 hours, since I do not have a watch winder. When you say Navitimer Classic, meaning a new regular navitimer? Or is it a previous generation navitimer?

That sucks man. I guess I am lucky in that I've never really had too many problems at all with my Lings, and I have a regular Navitimer as well as a Navitimer Montbrillant Legende which both have the Caliber 23 movement. Hope the airwolf is much better to you.

Yes my lemon was a Navitimer Heritage with the 23 movement. I have never had so much grief & unreliability from any watch ever. Any interesting info on the Airwolf?

Navitimer Heritage has a Breitling 35 movement, not a 23. The 35 movement is quite different from the 23. The Breitling 35 has a flyback chronograph.

Sorry I stand corrected; yes my lemon was the standard Navitimer Chronometer with 23 movement. I would not touch them with a 10foot barge pole. An feedback on the Airwolf? Thanks

I think the jury has decided that ALL Navitimers SUCK!! I have had nothing but trouble with my Nav World since I bought it 8 months ago! All I hear is other guys having problems with theirs as well. I just think Navitimers are not made for everyday use and are way too delicate for any abuse at all. Other then my second time zone not working since day one now my pushers are sticking after setting the second hand and I need to manually pull it out after pushing it in. What is going on over at Breitling with these watches????? I am going to get an SA and be done with the Navitimer series for good! Does anyone else out there feel my pain about their Nav World or any other Navitimer? I need a mans watch that can take the abuse of everyday use and I think the SA is the watch. I have blue faced Nav World for SALE lol!

Sorry to hear that guys, I now have heard of quiet a lot of other pilots unhappy with either the reliability or accuracy of their Navitimer. so it is a growing common problem, shame, big shame. I have now received my Airwolf, so far a great watch, great user friendly functions, maybe a bit thick & heavy. But love it. Looks awesome. Will report back on reliability, accuracy after a month or 2. This means I get another Breitling cap.........

I know it is too bad about all the bad Navitimers out there because they really are great looking watches(I think some of the best looking Lings) but there is some serious problems with this series! I think the Nav Worlds are having the most problems. Mine functioned like an American car,it was great the first few days then it turns to sh*t lol!. I guess that is why I drive a BMW haha... I really do love my watch but when you pay for perfection and all you get is problems it is little aggravating. There will never EVER be another Navitimer in my watch collection,too bad because they really are cool looking Lings. I really must have got a lemon this time. I have had two Chronomats and wore both of them for over 10 years and beat the heck out of them and they both worked perfectly. I guess you live and learn. I will be going back to the Chronomats after this experience. Good luck all you Navitimer owners out there and be careful with them. Naviman/soon to become Chronoman!!!

The Navitimer world is the only one that I've noticed a significant amount of problems with... I don't recall anyone else having a problem with their Navitimers except rotors88... I've owned 4 Navitimers, and currently own 2... Never had a problem with any of them. 2 of them were the "Old Navitimer" and are both gone, while the current ones I have are the Montbrillant Legende and standard Navitimer... aside from the inconvenience of the non-quickset date (which is just the way it is), they have both performed perfectly. I'd like to hear more about the specifics though, I'm interested in hearing what everyone elses problems are with the Caliber 23 version, since I own 2 watches with the caliber.

G'day my Navitimer with the 23 movement firstly the; hour & minute hands on the stop watch timer stopped rotating all together with the second hand of the stop watch, then next time I used it they would function normally?? Then not at all, when I reset the stop watch the minute & hour timer hands would not always zero correctly. The lower reset button became sticky & I had to manually pull it out with my finger nails. Other times the watch would just stop for no reason, I wore it every day shaking away in a Helicopter plus a few manual winds every morning to be sure, but it still would stop?? Then the only way to restart it was to pull the crown & turn the hands & then that would fire her up again? The second hand never aligned correctly with the minute hands movement. Other things; it then began to gain 2 minutes every week. It is no doubt a great looking watch & I believe that they were built great once too, but Breitling's quality standards have slipped big time? maybe there now built in a Chinese sweat shop? So far my Airwolf is running faultlessly, though the Navitimer did have the better looks. As mentioned earlier I know a number of Helicopter Pilots some with the same watch, most having some level of problems in accuracy or reliability & stop watch timer function not working as it is designed too. When you use this function to record fuel burn it is critical to know how many minutes of air time you have before the noise stops & the Navitimer proved to be untrustable for this function so it sure is NOT a flying Pilots watch, maybe a show piece to wear at a function but not in the air. I will never own one again, once bit, nearly crashed & burnt due to my in-flight timer stopping, so twice shy now - will never go back, the Pilots watch carries a huge responsibility one that if it cant handle the task then toss it away or in my case got a free replacement with a Airwolf with the price difference credited back to me.

No, they are made in Switzerland, like all Swiss Made watches. I don't know if their quality standards have been slipping... have they? I think Thomas would be a good person to ask, since he is a dealer. We can each comment only on our personal experience. Thomas where are you?
