Hi there, can anyone tell me what a normal price is for a second hand Breitling Chrono Cockpit with bronze dial from 2007 with all the papers, a brown leather strap and a steel pilot bracelet... It has been serviced in 2008! Its in a great shape with no scratches... Thanks for the help. |

Not an expert on used pricing for these - check eBay and Chrono24 for some ideas. However......... I would ask some serious questions about that watch - like why did a 2007 watch need a service in 2008? That doesn't sound right. |

is it strange that a watch has been serviced after one year? what is the normal time to service a breitling then? |

Every 5-7 years is when you would do a normal service. When and if anything goes wrong with a watch, it is within a year or year and half from when it was purchased brand new. That's why there is a 2-year warranty. I would ask WHY it went back, but i wouldnt be too concerned about it |

he told me that he had another 2 breitling he would bring to the dealer for a service and the dealer made a special price for a third, the cockpit! thats why he'd serviced the cockpit aswell... is that possible? |

No. Breitling wouldn't touch it withina year unless there have been a problem. It would still be under the 2 year warranty so the customer wouldn't get charged for it. Why would the dealer make a special price for a third? Its a repair, not a sale. The dealer doesn't make that much money on this to go and give "special" prices. |

It sounds like a watch that had a problem. That might now be completely fixed - a faulty part being replaced for example, or there could still be some issues - for example if the watch got water in it, was dropped, etc then there may be something else waiting to go wrong. The fact that the story doesn't add up - as krlyuzh said the discount story doesn't make sense, would make me even more wary. |

I would just worry about what exactly happened. I mean if it was just running a bit slow or fast, or had a small faulty part that was fixed by Breitling, why wouldn't he just tell you about it? I would just be afraid that it got water in it or been dropped and experience a lot of shock, or else. In that car there could be problems popping up in near future or long future. How good of a deal is it? I mean, after all, it is just a chrono cockpit. Most AD's are slow with it, trust me ![]() |

It depends on the price, but this is a readily discounted model and the watch sounds like it has a story behind it that you aren't being told - I don't think that it's worth the risk. |

Not an expert on European used pricing, but it seems OK - not sure that it's amazing though for a watch that as krlyuzh says is readily discounted. |

Look on eBay and check "completed listings" and see what these watches actually sell for used. Since you are still interested in it, do as the seller suggested and contact the place where he had it serviced and see if his story checks-out. Some people are anal retentive and I can see one getting a watch serviced more frequently than required. Make sure that it has all the proper papers, box, that the bracelets are genuine Breitling and of course that the watch itself is genuine. If it was serviced by Breitling and he has records of that as well, then I wouldn't worry about it to much. Sounds to me like you really want it. HTH, Michael |
