Got these two this week, the Sinn yesterday, and thanks to our very own MAH, the Skyracer arrived today. Thanks Mark! Two very different approaches to a pilot's watch. I like both of these for various reasons, but the Skyracer definitely gets the nod of approval from my wife and the couple that are currently staying with us. They love the look of the textured white/silver dial, and the combination of bling and brushed bezel. It seems that the casual observer doesn't really "get" the matte high contrast look of the Sinn, and while they think it looks cool, they would never guess it was as expensive as it is. To them it looks more like a $200 watch. Like an army watch. Interesting feedback.

Of the two, I know the Skyracer will spend more time on the wrist, and likely will have a longer stay in the collection, but its too early to tell. I've learned not to judge too quickly, as the best watches usually sneak up on you.

Quick and dirty pic...

I love them both, for different reasons.

The Skyracer is a beauty, and really bridges the boundary between function and dressiness. The Sinn on the other hand is function all the way, and as a result is 10 times more legible IMO....... but obviously less pretty as a result.

Both fine pieces Mark.

I am happy to see that the SR is getting the wrist time it deserves, it was sad to see it set in the safe. I have started to move to a little less "shinny" style watches but it is hard to top the SR dial and movement. I will post some pictures of a couple incoming this week. Including Marks Speedy that I ended up wih. It is great to keep them in the family. Enjoy the SR it is a awsome piece.
Best,
Mark
