Congratulations on the Colt! As a long time user of this site you know we are going to need some pictures.
As far as the winder, I am assuming that you have multiple watches and as such need a winder. A lot of folks don't actually need one because sometimes it's just as easy to wind a few watches daily. Your Colt auto has about a 42 hour reserve and so will go for quite sometime without having to wind it.
However if you are blessed with multiple autos there are tons of threads on this site devoted to winders. A quick search will ususally yield a plethora of useful info.
