Hello!
I`ve stumbled across this forum when trying to do some research on the Superocean Chrono.
I`ve been hanging out at some different forums, I go by the same nick so maybe someone has seen me before.
Anyways I`m looking at the forementioned beauty with the black dial and was wondering if anyone has any experience with it?
I`ve been lusting after a new Breitling lately. Tried on quite a few at an AD, and came to the conclusion that I cant go bigger than the Superocean`s 42mm.
They had the black dial chrono with bracelet and what a beauty! I love the day/date wich would really come in handy for me since I never can remember what date it is, and every once in a while I will forget the day too
But.... I also tried on the Omega Seamaster pro (black bezel) for size. My, my that is a really good looking watch.
I`ve got fairly small wrists (just under 6,5") and while the Superocean chrono is 42mm, the 15,1mm height of the thing really is quite hefty
I`m more comfortable with the height of the seamaster pro, but then again I really like the superocean chrono with its day/date feature and all the wonderfulle details.
Would love to hear your input on the superocean chrono. Quality etc? Any pictures/wristshots on a skinny wrist like mine?

Oh, and cool smileys here! :lingsrock:

HI There! I bought a CSO 3 day ago. My first Breitling after wanting ones for ages! I to chose this watch as like you i dont have a big wrist and not a big bloke either. The watch does not look big for me which was my only worry about owning a Breitling. The watch had everything i wanted that suited my budget. Quite chunky but the face is not too large, Day and date,Sub dials, second hand with the 'B' logo and finally the back of the watch is just a stunning as the front just to top it off!
Highly recomend this watch!

Congratulations! What dial color did you choose?
Would love a wristshot :D And how big is your wrist? (Man, in any other context that would be such a weird question to ask  )

I think the Superocean Chrono is the ideal size for a 6.5" wrist.

Great watch, I really like it.

I have the same watch shown above (black dial on pro II). It was my first breitling, I love the watch. It looks great on my 7" wristr. Very sporty but can also be worn for "dressy" occasions. It isn't too big but not too small either. I've attached a link to photos of mine but with a ocean racer strap that I switched out for my Pro II (figured I would give the braclet a rest) for the summer.

Thanks for all the responses, guys!
Im gonna take a trip to my local AD on Saturday and try it on again for size. I had the superocean for a little while, but sold it as it just seemed too big for me, but that chrono is just so good looking I might just have to go out on a limb again....

1. Congrat on your new watch!

2. The 15.1 mm height is a factory error: real height is around 17 mm (just a bit over I think).

3. The only drawback is the non-existence of an all-dark dial (I'd prefer "blackeye blue" - just to borrow the B01 nomeclature). Contrasting dials don't make quick time reading easy.

Hope this helps: Robertus

I Got the blue dial with white sub dials. Love this watch and cant stop looking at it. I'm not a in the same 'status class' as most Breitling owners so had to save hard for it. The watch it worth 3 times my car LOL! I'll get a photo sorted with on my wrist so you get an idea of the size.

To be honest looks pretty much the same as the picture already posted on my wrist. My wrist is 7 inch/ 18cm to give you and idea.

I`m off to the local AD on Saturday to try it on, hopefully they have it on a strap, I`m interested to see if it looks any different on my wrist than with the bracelet.
Yeah, cars and watces, eh? My watches far exceeds the cost of my car, as long as it starts and runs fine I`m ok with it  Need to get it serviced though now that I think about it :(
Thanks for all the replies, guys!
I can`t stop thinking about this watch now.... :lingsrock:

It's a great watch. It wears larger than 42mm, very chunky at 17mm thick. I wear a suit to work every day and it works well as a dress watch as well as a casual watch. It's the first Breitling I ever owned and I don't ever anticipate getting rid of it. You are making a solid choice.

Good Luck!!!

Quick question: Is the regular Superocen as thick as the Chrono version? My catalogue says 15mm for the Superocean and 15,1mm for the chrono. Will that in reality say its 17mm for the Superocean and 17,1 for the chrono?

I own both and the Chrono Superocean feels bigger and thicker than my Superocean Professional (more than 1mm for sure).

The height of the non-chrono SO might really be around 15 mm, only the CSO sizing is a mistake. The ETA 2824... is around 4.6 mm while the 7750 is 7.9 mm high. The difference is smaller though because the deeper wr rating of the non-chrono SO needs a somewhat thicker crystal.
