For TT watches, can you use Cape Cod polishing cloths on the gold portions? Or just the stainless steel?

Would hate to mess up the new watch trying to make it pretty.

I would love to know the answer to this question myself. My mom has a TT Starliner that is getting pretty scratched up on the front side of the bracelet.

I would imagine you have the thicker rolled gold finish, so some carefull cape cod polishing should be safe.

Found a good thread here

I use them on my TT Chronomat. Only a year old now, but no ill effects at all! :lingsrock:

I would be fairly judicious, but certainly won't cause any immediate problems. Modern Breitling gold is relatively thick (20 microns) rolled gold which is a sheet of gold laminated to the base metal, so more stable than a plate which is not only much thinner, but also applied at a molecular leve and is therefore less stable.

However, gold is soft and cape cods do remove microscopic amounts of metal, so over the years you will be thinning the gold.

I agree with Roff : the Cods are fine for gold, but go easy and don't use it too often.
