I have the Chronomat Evolution in black and ivory, romans, with the rose gold bezel. The bezel may be polished, but the Rose Gold on both watches speaks for itself quite nicely.
I'm generally referring to the stainless and two-tone Evo models. The basis for comparision within the Windrider family would be the old Crosswinds, specifically the Crosswind Special LE two-tone. I have one of these and the bezel is polished to an extent that I can see my reflection, provided I concentrate to some degree. I cannot imagine purchasing an evo without the polished bezel as in my opinion it's the bezel that truly 'makes' the watch.
I believe that the present Cockpit line has fully-polished bezels; the Blackbird certainly carries that option as does (rather glaringly) the B01. There are a couple of things I'm trying to get to the bottom of:
1) Is the finish on the blackbird/cockpit/B01 bezel simply a matter of polishing a piece of stainless steel, or are the bezels coated with some sort of compound and then polished? This is significant because should I have to turn to a jeweler, I would want to make sure the jeweler could replicate the finish;
2) Will Breitling do this in-house or would something like this be considered 'out of specification', which I know Breitling hates to do? The folks at Timezone seem to think jeweler is going to be my only option.
There's also the question of whether polishing the bezel aftermarket would violate the warranty.
