Post subject:  New To Breitling - What do you think?

Hi,

I found this great site while looking for information on Breitling. (you guys know your stuff!)

I have been looking for a Breitling for some time and have now found one that I like.

http://cgi.ebay.com/Breitling-Chrono-Se ... dZViewItem

The trouble is that I don't know much about the model. I have looked at all of the helpful information on this site and it seems ok to me - Is it?

Is this model good/reliable?
Is the condition of this watch good or just ok?
Is the price reasonable?

Any other comments ?

I hope it is all good but - fools rush in, so I thought i would ask some experts first!

thanks,

Simon

I think it's overpriced for the model. That is a tiny watch, what we'd call "Mid-Sized"... and smaller than any Men's Breitling that is currently in production. I Would not think that watch is worth much more than $1000, personally. Also the movement is Quartz, with mechanical Chronograph, but the main movement is quartz, so it is battery operated.

Simon,

I agree with Admin on this one. If you were prepared to spend $1700 check out the link below. For a couple hundred more you could get a brand new Super Ocean Steelfish. They have 2 on Steel bracelets ranging from $1920 to $1935 and one on a strap for $1695. You will need a little REHAB if you choose the one on the strap but its a better start than paying $1700 for that 1/4 Ling. See the link below.

I am with acceldebt and admin. Personally I would spend the extra money and get a brand new, out of the box Breitling.

Im also from the school of thought that says if you are going to buy a Breitling, it needs to be fully mechanical. So my advice, dont buy this one, rather take your time and look for a new one

Hope that helps
