Can anyone tell me if this is something i could do myself or if not would an AD do it for me?
I assume if it could be done / quality of the brushing would depend on the standard of the dealer....Which worries me slightly.

Any advice appreciated.

Well you could do it yourself, but without experience an AD would likely do a better job. I know that carlhaluss has an AD that offered to do it, and while they won't all do it you should be able to find one. Alternately you could ask Breitling, but then the costs will doubtless be higher, and of course it will take longer.
