I've been looking for one of these 50th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain Aerospaces for some time. Snagged this one off Ebay yesterday shortly after it was listed. Limited Edition watch only sold in the UK. Hope to have in a week or so.

That's a great watch.

I considered getting one for my father as I can't find a Chronomat Lancaster, but the quartz wouldn't suit him.

Great piece though!

Says in the ad that there would be a maximum number made of 200 of each version. Don't know if that amount was actually produced though. Might send them an email asking how many they sold once I get mine. The link is here: (takes a few seconds to load up)

Here's a couple of pics I took at Duxford, UK in 1977 or 78. Quite an airplane!

My father was Navigator for 18 missions in 61 squadron - quite a plane indeed!

Please enlighten me. How can the 50th anniversary Battle of Britain watch be come out in 2007? Is that the 50th anniversary of the original watch? Cuz I'm pretty sure the Battle of Britain was in 1940.

It's not the 50th anniversary of the Battle of Britain - it's the 50th anniversary of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight - the spitfire, hurricane and lancaster flight that tours airshows.

Of course the irony is that the lancaster wasn't in service for the Battle of Britain.
