Hello all. First of all Id like to say that this is a great website. Full of knowledge and great pictures!

I have a few questions for some of the experts here. Let me first say that I tried to do as much of my own research as I could before I came here and asked questions, so I apologize if I missed the other 20 threads that probably answer my same questions.

I recently received a Breitling Chrono SuperOcean as a gift. Its a beautiful watch and Im really happy with it.

My question is this. The watch did not come with a certificate of authenticicy (which I also have learned has your warranty information on it) It also did not come with the COCS ( I hope thats the correct accronym).

Put aside for now any concerns of whether or not the watch is genuine (I dont have those concerns because the watch came from a jewler who is a close family friend). My question is....What are the consequences of not having these documents? Do I have a warranty on this watch? Will Breitling service this watch? When sending a watch in for a warranty repair, does the warranty certificate (which I dont have) need to be sent in with the watch?

Im new to this site and new to Breitling, both of which are wonderful things! Thanks for any help and I look forward to contributing to the site in the future. :lingsrock:

Welcome aboard.
If you don't have a warranty card, you don't have a warranty period.
Breitling will service it (without any paper) if the watch is authentic, not stolen and has serials intact.

Welcome, I love that watch. It's my first Breitling and I'll never ever get rid of it. IMO the best smaller ling out there (42mm is small in Breitling standards). As far as the warranty booklet goes, ask your friend who got it for you how he got it. Enjoy! What dial did you get, i have the blue.

Can some tell me the proper names for the documents that normally come with all Breitling Watches? I want to ask my jewler if she is holding these documents.

Thanks!. I got the blue dial as well. My parents bought the watch for me from a friend of ours who is a jewler. I want to ask her (the jewler) about the documents. Maybe she has them.

Thanks. I have the User Manual, so I just need the COSC and Warranty Book. Ive seen pictures on the net of watches that came with authenticity certificates....is that part of the warranty book?

the COSC cert is probably what u mean its actually to certify that the watch meets official chronometer standards.

COSC cert can be reissued by BUSA or BUK etc but warranty book cant by anyone, both should correspond to nthe serial number on the watch you have

Thanks for the help with identifying the paperwork. My jewler says that she has my documents in a folder at her store. Is that normal? Im guessing its because she bought the watch from a AD and that perons identity cant be shown to me? In any case, here are a few pictures. Sorry for the crappy pics, brand new expensive camera and I still cant take decent pics :(

That's a bunch of nonsense. All the documents should follow the watch, no matter how many times it's resold.
Oh, and welcome! :D

Tell her you want the papers. Theres no reason she shouldnt provide them.

The warranty book doesnt have any personal info in it other than the original dealers info.

Also, there is no "certificate of authenticity" included by Breitling.
