Most importantly, Breitling. Most of the site is Flash. All of the watch content is. Same goes for a lot of other brands. I hate it, and it makes looking at older versions of the site to see old models impossible with the wayback machine. Rant over. |

I guess because the marketing director has bought into the "Flash will present your products in their best light" argument. Whilst flash is sometimes used very well (eg the Breitling Japan fitting room, TAG letting you play with the controls of chronograph), most times it's just moving wallpaper and makes site navigation much harder. 90% of the time I visit a site, whether a manufacturer or retailer, I simply want to look at a big pic of a watch and check the tech spec. I do not want a multimedia presentation! However, I suspect the average Joe is impressed by Flash sites and helps convince them to pay big bucks for the watches. |

Because homepage designers want to earn more money, and they can ask for more money with a flash-animated page. BG Thomas |

Flash also tends not to get indexed as well by search engines, which makes your products harder to find via Google, etc. Seems dumb to me. |

I think people just view it as "high tech." Its a good way to get animations in there without the bulk of actual videos. |
