I have seen the Skyland but haven't seen the Seawolf Chrono in person...the AD says the Seawolf seems to be the more "popular" of the two...whats everyones preference? with what dial color? thanks |

Well Skyland is a mechanical watch with a polished finish, opposed to ASC:s super quartz movement and brushed finish. So although they look much alike and are the same size, they are two very different beasts. I´d say the Skyland would be more popular with some margin. I have it and love it. The black dial is the biggest seller then grey and then blue (a new silver one is in the wings too). I´m not sure but do believe that ASC:s most popular dial is the silver one, which is very nice. So think about which movement is your thing? I think most for the same price would choose the mechanical one, but that´s a completely personal preference to every one. But that´s all beside the point, as you should get the one serenades to you. So go try them on and you´ll know. |

I would go with the skyland evrey time! It looks and acts like a breitling sould - a big, shiney, heavey, mechanical swiss made watch you do look at it and think "breitling" the seawolf chrono is damn nice but i couldent live with the quartz... be sure to post pics of what ever one you get

I don't see there being any contest between the two. Skyland all the way. To me, comparing them is like comparing apples and oranges. They are so very different as Java pointed out. I am not a fan of quartz, even tho superquartz is special, i'm still going to go with an Auto every time. The Skyland caught my eye the first time I saw it and I still love it. The only reason I won't buy it is I have two Aeromarine's already and I want to get a Navitimer next. Skyland, black dial, black ocean racer strap. That's my pick! |

Iv tried both on,the seawolf chrono is slightly heavier and thicker,not so much bling involved,it has brushed top and polished sides,with a brushed bracelet,i prefer the position of the sub-dials on the seawolf 3,6 and 9 on the seawolf and 6,9 and 12 on the skyland,the lovely silver dial and also not having to worry about ever winding it up or putting it on a winder,i also do a fair bit of diving so the greater water resistance 1000m compared to 300m, and being able to operate the chrono function underwater is great,a no brainer for me really,not so common as the skyland either,but the best way is to go to a AD that has both and try them both on,i went to my dealer with all intentions of buying a skyland and came out with a seawolf chrono,brown leather strap,have no regrets at all,brilliant watch wear it every day....

I dont have any hard data, but the Skyland seems to be a million times more popular on just about every Breitling forum I know of. Not sure what your dealer is talking about. It just comes down to quartz vs. auto, brushed vs. polished. I prefer auto. I also prefer polished. ...and with the new version of the skyland with the metallic numbers, the two models look even more similar. |

Call me Mr Cynical, but I wouldn't be surprised if he was trying to drum up a sale for a watch that he may have had trouble shifting.

I suppose its each to their own,i just prefer the brushed less blingy in your face look of the seawolf chrono,my last Breitling was a new model blackbird,again brushed, but just to small compared to my big pilot, and as for diving the seawolf fits the bill a lot better then the skyland, lovely watch it is, i must admit im looking forward to seeing the silver face version, also i do prefer straps rather than bracelets,(bar IWC),and i think every Breitling looks great on either,so for me my dress and going out watch is my IWC and for doing more rugged things the Breitling...best of both worlds.... |

Or go the used route and get a Chrono Avenger. Less blingy and lighter Titanium case, with the same auto movement at the Skyland. |

Skyland!! Rugged yet refined. Sporty but still able to be dressy at times. Looks great on a bracelet!! But I am a bit biased. Honestly though, you couldnt go wrong either way. |

Skyland, definitely, unless quartz is what you're after. If the Seawolf Chrono wasn't quartz, I probably would have bought one by now. |

I have a M1 Chrono Avenger, white face, titanium band that I switch off with the blue and black rubber straps, very nice and seems half as light as the Skyland and a bit more casual looking. Love it and it's my favorite watch. I also have the Black Face Stainless Steel Skyland for the more "Dress" or professional look but you can really wear it for all occasions and I personally bought that over the Seawolf. It's bigger, heavier and the Stainless Steel gives it a very nice look and feel. It's an attention grabber and a nice watch. Plus I already had the M1 so between my two Breitlings, I had 2 different looks. You can also swap out a black strap with it to change up the look as well. I have to sell mine as I wear the M1 a lot more and unfortunately need the money. But Skyland is a great watch and you won't be disappointed!

see i would have to say that choice between the 2 for me would come down to application, if this is for all round use id buy the auto, if as i was looking for a sports/gym watch that could take a beating and not worry id go quartz. not sayings thats right but id imagine constant impact would damage the auto quicker than the quartz. |
