I was admiring another forum members Navitimer world and noticed that his Navi Worlds chrono's second hand looked slightly out of alignment meaning it wasnt exaclty lined up with the marker just below the 24 hour mark (zero point). I check mine and noticed that it too was slightly off. I tried running it for awhile followed by a reset without any noticeable difference.

Want to know if other Navitimer or Navitimer World owners noticed or had this issue or is it something I'm overlooking.

I soon as I posted those pictures, I knew someone would comment on it!

The pic was taken at the SLIGHTEST bit of an angle (look at the position of the lugs at the bottom), and it makes the chrono hand look WAY off. But it is really not the case at all.

While a number of folks have commented on this with the Navi World, I really do think that in many instances, it is an illusion caused by a few factors - the chrono hand is extremely narrow, the marker at 24 is quite thick (compared to the chrono hand), and most of all, the chrono hand sits quite a fair distance above the marker. I think that large distance can very easily cause you to think that it is off.

Looks like mine is very VERY fractionally out too! Not by much considering the magnification on this pic, but fractionally all the same. Not enough to be losing sleep over though.

BUT, looks like my old blue one never that that issue!

Kstone, You make a valid point and I can see how the angle can give the illusion that the second hand is slightly off mark. Also in looking a Driver8's picture I see the same micro deviation as I see on mine, but as you said chances are its just a matter of the angle from which the image was captured.

Interesting how such a small perceived deviation can be such a big distraction.

Jerome, I have the same problem with my World, it's slightly off. It's doesn't bother me enogh to send back to Breitling, plus I always keep the chrono running when I'm wearing it. I know we demand perfection from our Breitlings, but I can't part with it over this :lingsrock: .

Mine is right on the mark.
Though you might get this covered under your warranty
You might just see it as a testament of the watch being assembled by hand, creating small imperfections in every watch.
Although machines almost always create perfect results, having human made imperfections gives your watch a soul, doesn't it?
I wouldn't send of my watch to Breitling, but cherish it as my watch with that seconds hand that is slightly rebellious

I just kicked my CA M1 back to the AD for the same issue. It just kept eating at me considering I spend around $3k for that one. It just bugged me that the watch's only function was to be as accurate and precise as possible, yet the chrono hand was as far as half way between some tic marks. If it bothers you, send it on back; they will fix it under warranty. If you can live with it, don't sweat it!

I would want it to line up perfectly. Isn't that kind of the point...precision and all that.

I'm suprised by driver8 here, considering your usual ocd with bezel alignment (which I must say, is flawless!), how could you sleep with anything but absolute perfection!

Just got my M1 back today after sending it for the chrono hand alignment. Not only did they fix the problem, they did a full service, got rid of the nicks and scratches from the Titanium finish, and they even returned it in a cool little zipper case with a polishing cloth. As someone who sat undecided on the "return for repair" fence, I have to say I am thrilled with my decision. My watch is better than it was when it was new. If you are still undecided, I say send it in!!

Score one point for BUSA's service!
