Hi I've been gradually saving for a Breitling over these last few months and am ready to do the deed and would ideally like my Chronomat with the aforementioned black leather strap. My problem is I have big wrists approx 9" and fear that with the leather as opposed to the steel, this could prove a problem. I can't seem to find much info on it and would welcome any comments from those equally big boned. Am I stuck with a steel bracelet with extra links or can the strap accomodate me? |

If you are getting your watch from AD they should be able to order you an XL strap. These usually have to be special ordered, so make sure to give yourself enough time for it to come in our you will have to make a couple trips. I would imagine that the XL strap would accomidate a 9" wrist no problem. ![]() ![]() |

A long strap should be OK, though it might still be tight if you are going to have it on deployant. The long straps are only 10mm extra on each side (120 / 100), and with the overlap that happens with the deployant clasp it's going to be close. If you go the deployant route make sure that you can get it ordered on approval. Tang shouldn't be a problem. |

Lalonde, my wrist is 9.5" and a couple years ago I bought an extra long honey-colored croc stap with deployment from my AD. It fit very well and looked great (I've since sold the watch) but it wasn't cheap -- about $600. I still have the strap and may someday put it on my Steelfish. The strap is extremely well made and should last for years. Check one out; I think you'll like it. ![]() Steve |

My wrist is approximately the same size as yours and I have a Seawolf on the leather with deployant buckle. It fits great, I have no issues with it at all. I love it. I know everyone has their own taste and I respect that, but I have a Chronomat and that SS bracelet is so beautiful, can I convince you to get that instead? Okay, I had to try. Good luck and let us know how you make out, we all want to see your new baby when she comes home... |

A belated thanks for the replies. I may just be ready to do the deed this weekend - fingers crossed. If I could only decide on which one I want. ![]() Having gone from 'definately' getting a SuperOcean, to thinking hmmm perhaps something slightly bigger. Steelfish - hmmm doesn't feel right on my wrist, ooooh the SO Chrono looks nice, ahhh the Chronomats slightly bigger and looks good. Then trying on the Avenger Skyland again and saying 'you beauty'. All the while the watches getting steadily more expensive - eeeek. I think my local Goldsmiths are sick of the sight of me. ![]() However, it may just be time to retire my 6 month old Tag F1 from day to day use and keep it for more physical activities. |

Good Luck. I remember when I bought my first Breitling. I instantly fell in love with a Chronomat with a red dial, I had to have it. But at the time I just could not afford it. So I went with the Superocean Chrono, which I absolutely love. I remember looking at all the different models at my AD, driving him absolutely nuts. But he put up with it knowing I was hooked, and 2 Lings later he and I are fast friends. I did eventually save up enough for that Chronomat. Thanks to the 18-0 run of the NE Patriots, I won enough money to buy my prize posession. Luckily I didn't try to double up on the Super Bowl that year ![]() |
