Post subject: | No warranty, service? |
My wife bought me a Wings Automatic online a while back and it came with all the papers except the warranty which I expected. It has the serial # on the back and from everything I have read I am confident that it is authentic. My question is, when I want to get the Pilot bracelet polished and need some tuning up will Breitling service it for me without the warranty? If so, is there an extra charge? Is there anything else I should know (besides going to an AD when I get my next Breitling)? Thanks. |

You don't need to send it back to Breitling for servicing... you can take it into any AD that has a watchmaker in house and do a service on it. It won't be free no matter where you send it in for servicing however. Services aren't included in the watch price even from an AD unless they strike you some sort of deal. |

Thanks. So I can go to one of the Maintenance Centers listed on the Breitling website and they can do all of the servicing/polishing/gasket replacement? Will I get a 1 year warranty from BUSA for the service? I assume this will cost me anywhere from $200-500 depending on the level of service needed, does this sound correct? Is there a chance they could deny the service since I do not have the warranty? If I had bought from an AD, how long is the standard warranty? |

As long as your watch has the serials intact (and correct) I don't see that they'll object - more or less, isn't the warranty card just for your own purposes, if you should need any service due to malfabrication during the warranty time (2 years)? After that time, you have to pay... Or, before that time if you don't have the warranty. Any malfunctiono caused by the user isn't covered by any warranty. However, if the serials are wiped out or incorrect, I believe the AD will refuse to service the watch. |

Great, that's a lot of help. So one of the Maintenance Centers on the Breitling website will be able to do the servicing or do I have to send it to BUSA? |

If you get in touch with your nearest maintenance center, they'll do what they can and send it to the right people for the things they can't. You can fully trust them and just await a well serviced watch. |
