Are ALL Breitling models considered to be a Chronometre and therefore worthy of the yellow tag? In particular I was wondering if the earlier Chronomat was in such a catagory. Thanks.

All Breitlings since about 2001 / 2002 are COSC certified - the decision was taken in 1999 but it took a while to roll out.

The 3rd digit / 4th character of the model number will be a 3 rather than a 0 for watches that are COSC certified.

Splitting hairs I know (and def not trying to score points over Roff who's probably forgotten more than the rest of us put together!) but I don't believe the UTC/Co-Pilot modules are, or ever have been, COSC.

For info, whilst 99% of model refs have either a 0 or 3, there have been a few exceptions

1 = only used for the UTC/Co-Pilot module
4 = used exclusively on the Astromat / Astromat 1461 / Astromat Longitude models
6 = used exclusively on the Shark Quartz / Chrono Shark Quartz models
8 = used exclusively on the Bentley Mulliner Tourbillon

As you can tell, I've had a lot of spare time on my hands lately!

I'd forgotten about the UTCs and co-pilots not being COSC, and yes, I should have said that the 3rd character was not a zero, generally a 3

Thanks Sharky!
