Hi David. Thanks so much for your patience for responding in detail. Really appreciate your interest.

1. No. I doubt if they designed the display to change one click at a time! I remember reading somewhere that the airwolf quartz also had this behavior. Myne is also random. Its not an issue. I also keep the display locked mostly on UTC for flights. At home, I unlock it and lock it back onto date/day. The clicks don't seem to follow a specific pattern or anything. Like you mentioned, I too keep scrolling until I reach the function I need, instead of thinking like a geek! Problem solved!! Since lot of users are mentioning the same, I think they've got it sorted. Before repair, function jumps and crown falling off are serious downers. It's good that post repair these B50 threads will fade and die and new users will not have to suffer to even start with! :strummin:

2. Sounds good and 2-3% per day is very decent as per the graphs in the manual. Due to other watches, my B50 goes through a period of inactivity sometimes. Like the lithium ion batteries in the iPhone and iPad, the B50 holds the 100% charge initially for more time and then starts dropping at a rate. Sometimes, the drop is more if I use aggressively and suddenly over a week the drop reduces due to less usage or even inactivity. Little usage - normal daily usage - inactivity period - litte usage again, etc causes the B50 battery to do at a slightly varying rate. But since you are using it regularly with the tilt on, the drop seems to be at a decent linear rate.

Very nice indeed David! Hope you enjoy your watch as much as I do myne.

In just about forty days since my last charge, my B50 shows 43%, or about 1.7% per day. The tilt function is always on and I sporadically use the countdown timer. Will probably charge it this week.

Saddened to learn of all the problems of the B50. I have an aerospace bought in 1999. Superb, used abused three batteries and a major overhaul, well designed rugged watch. Major service brought it back to 'good' condition as I use it 70% of the time but now not at work.
Considering all the problems you guys have had I will wait a couple of years as I don't believe that the B50 is as rugged at the aerospace. and maybe revisit at a later date.
Thanks to you guys - I guess that I have all the instruments that I need in the cockpit - for now.
But later.......

Probably not. Guys like this all of a sudden toss up the gay card after disciplinary action takes place, mysteriously rarely before. This will be settled out of court, which of course is the entire goal of the plaintiff -- revenge money.

Well, it has finally happened! :) My Breitling is now 1 second slow according to the NIST US TIME and Breitling Web site! It was set at the factory after the repair on approximately March 24, 2015, (I received it back on April 1, 2015), and now, after just 12 days short of 10 months it is one second slow! Now, I suppose I should probably be taking into account the leap second added on June 30, 2015, which would mean my watch is really off by 2 seconds in 10 months, but who is counting? :)

I guess they fixed mine right at the factory! I think the superquartz thermo compensated chronometer is supposed to aim for 5 seconds a year so your average is just about right.

Just want to give this thread a quick bump so we may get an update from any B50 users. Are the original issues resolved? Any new issues or quirks? Or is everything working great?

Let us know your experiences! Thanks!!

I started the topic, and I am pleased to say no issues with my watch at all since it was returned from Switzerland April 1 of 2015. As best I can tell from the on line time clocks for U.S. Govt and Breitling it has gained only 1 second in all that time, and even that could be zero, based on the variations of checking Internet time. Very happy with the watch, only comment is that when rotating the crown to change functions, it is not "click" to change but just rotate and hit or miss until you get the function you are seeking.

The official spec is -/+ 15 seconds a year for Breitling SQ. COSC Quartz spec calls for -/+ 25 secs a year.

I bought a B50 December 2015 and so far none of the original problems.
There is one small issue which i described here: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=59259#p416904
It's such a minor issue that I don't care for it too much, so I'll get that fixed when it gets it first service.
