I just measured the lengths of an existing (cut to fit) OR strap and gave them the numbers. And specified that I wanted no tang holes and springbars on all ends.

Alan; I ordered my python strap from ABP, tailored to fit the OR clasp. I believe for a good fit, custom strap or some after customization of standard straps are necessary.

That sounds sexy! Going to need pics please.

Thanks for the links Driver8.

Those straps look stunning! I notice ABP have updated their site with some new styles (cannot wait till I have been good enough for a treat again.

Hey acceldebt, what cigar it is? I love Hoyo de Monterrey (cuban)

Countduckula,

That one was a Dominican Davidoff Millenium Robusto. I smoke mostly Cubans but I also like Davidoff's, Opus X, and a few other non Cuban brands. Davidoff makes a "Winston Churchill" series in various sizes that are great too. From 2002 to 2007 I never smoked anything but Cubans and then the guy that owns the Tobacco Shop I go to started introducing me to some of these non Cuban premium cigars and many of them are just as good as any Cuban. On this forum Altair is the real expert on the subject.

"Would you please post a pic of the OR Clasp attaching to the deployant (inner view)."

Tonight I will make a film of the underside of the watch. I had to go to my Leather/Shoe repair guy and have him make the other end of the strap so it is designed for a spring bar. It took 2 tries but we got it right. I have no problem taking off the strap and putting the Bracelet back on but I still can't get the hang of removing the bracelet when I want to change back to the strap. When you want to remove the strap it's really easy all you have to do is use a knife blade and detach one side and then it pops right off. Then putting the bracelet back on is easy too, I just do it from the underside and guide one spring bar in and then push down on the other end with a knife blade and it pops right in but getting the bracelet off is difficult. I can release one end of the spring bar but I can't get the other end to release. You really need some kind of caliper tool that squeezes both ends of the spring bar at once.

Many thanks but please do not go to the trouble just for me. (still be interested to see it though).
Do you not use a 6767f? Makes Bracelet removal easy.

Aliester has told me how he sorted the spec. for his stunning Python OR strap from ABP.

Alan,

I don't even know what a 6767f is. My watch guy uses a tiny, forked shape screw driver to get the bracelet off but he's a pro I haven't had any luck yet trying to do it myself. Like I said I can get one end of the spring bar to release but I still can't get the bracelet off. Putting it back on is a piece of cake and takes about 3 seconds but taking it off is not something I've mastered yet.

It is a bergeon strap/bracelet removal tool (costs about £10) same sort of thing your man uses, but you can do it yourself (try not to impail your thumb, it hurts.)

I have tried to use the 6767f after a couple of glasses and ...just dont.

It will do the job (and better doing it your self so to speak)

Yeah,

No kidding I've cut myself several times already and I hadn't even had any "cups" yet.

Bit of practice and you will feel impowered/empowered or both.
A Man needs to be in charge of his Straps/Bracelets. 6767f go for it.

Just pouring my afternoon glass of white now - cheers.

Have a good weekend.

Alan,

Here you go,

This shows about what it takes to get one of these Ocean Racer clasps to fit a LING Croco.

Many thanks for the vid.

I've had a couple of the OR clasps and they are increadable pieces of engeneering.

"I've had a couple of the OR clasps and they are increadable pieces of engeneering."

In my opinion they are the ONLY clasps for LINGS. The regular LING clasp is way too small and wimpy. My Patravi Traveltech has a clasp that is designed like this Ocean Racer clasp and has the 2 little buttons that you squeeze to release it. When you add the Ocean Racer clasp to a strap you have somewhat of a bracelet and strap in one because the OR clasp is so big it doesn't leave you with just a "wimpy" non metal situation holding your LING on. I used to be adamantly opposed to anything but bracelets. Then I got my Bucherer and had a LING Croco strap installed on it and decided they were not so bad. Then I decided I wanted a change of pace with my Bentley and I knew I couldn't deal with that little clasp that the LING Croco is supposed to be attached with so I decided to get into some custom stuff and added the OR clasp. If you look at some of the really high end watches like Roger Dubuis and others they provide a very large clasp with their Croco straps. Once again I like the change of pace with the Strap and in the meantime I followed Admin's advice and got a Dremel for polishing in addition to my Cape Cod's so I've got my Speed bracelet all shined up and when I put it back on it looks like new,

The OR clasp is a great piece of equipment. I wish the clasp on all of my watches worked that well.
