Good luck! Mine seems ok after 26 days from factory return.... problems originally developed after 29 days, so I am reaching that point!

My hunch was correct....after not hearing one word from Breitling via any modes of communication, I began receiving daily emails from the company promoting a new watch last Wednesday. I suspected that they must have fixed my B50 and figured it was probably on its way from Switzerland to my AD--which, indeed, turned out to be the case.

On Friday, my AD called and said I could come get it, which I did. In the store he said that the corrective action was a "software update". I told him I'd heard about problems with the Crown nob and recharging...and he looked shocked, like he'd never heard of those issues. I asked if Breitling had at least checked my B50 for those problems. He showed me the return slip and it only had "OH" for the Item Number with "R" (for Required) and "Overhaul Movement" under the Description. My B50 came back to me 5 weeks and one day after the AD called me and said Switzerland would need 6-8 weeks to fix and return my time piece.

Wore the B50 on Friday night after picking it up and again all day Saturday. No issues with the LOCKED feature unlocking like before. In fact, the B50 seems to be performing perfectly. Knock on wood. I'll keep you posted.

Its been 2 weeks since my B50 was returned from Switzerland....and happy to report no issues (knock on wood).

I've had mine back from Switzerland for almost four months and it's working perfectly. Good luck to all.

I am happy to report that my B50 seems to still be okay, back from the factory nearly 5 weeks, and I have had it longer now than when I originally purchased it new.

Is anyone else out there still waiting for their watch to be returned?

Today is my two month anniversary of the return of my watch, and also, so far so good! Time variance: watch running fast, about 1/2 second per month. I can live with that!!

Hi guys,...,

Any more updates from anyone on their B50s showin up issues? Sorry to ask for the same old thing about the B50 but couldn't stop myself from sharing my experience in short.

Mine is just 10 days old. Crown seems fine. Functions are working fine and not jumping in locked mode. I use it sparingly along side my other B'lings but it's been 8 days since the last full charge. Still hasn't come down even 1%!! I dunno if I'm being too hopeful of the watch to drop 1% to consider it running well!

I'd be thankful of what you guys think based on your personal experiences..

The B50 recall is not known to everyone...especially since the brand is not openly recalling all watches. Do you guys know if Breitling is still recalling B50s or are they confident enough that they've targeted all the bad ones out there...?!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts/opinions guyssss..

I am happy to report that my Breitling has been perfect since it's return from the factory repair center. No problems whatsoever and the timekeeping is outstanding. It has not changed the correct time setting by even one second since the beginning of April. When I received it, it was two seconds slow from GMT When I compared it to United States official time on the Internet, which I attribute to signal delay through the Internet. In fact, in July on vacation I visited the Royal Observatory in Greenwich England and compared the master clock to my watch and it was perfect!!

I've had mine back from Switzerland since this past February and so far it seems fine. However, when wearing it, which is almost everyday, I don't really use all the functions. That said, when I do use them the watch performs perfectly. Since I don't us the functions and "work" the piece, the battery is only down to 70%. The watch "crashed" before last Christmas when I started to charge it - it overheated, the crown fell off, and it went totally dead. The final test will be when I charge it again. I am keeping my fingers crossed. Good luck to all!!

One additional note on battery usage: I keep the watch in the "locked position", showing day and date, and allowing it to light whenever I twist my wrist. I find that in normal use wearing the watch on a daily basis it drops a maximum of about 4% on average each day, usually only 1% to 3%. I say on average because I took the charger with me on an 18 day vacation just in case I need it, and the total battery drop was 50%. Hope that is helpful/of interest.

Thanks David. That's awesome....Greenwich master clock and stuff, amazing. Very happy for you indeed. Once the rough edges are off, it's a watch hard to get rid off :superman:

Also, thanks a lot for your info on your battery drop as per usage...

Thnx n regards

Hi there...

i know exactly how you must've felt! But now I think it's performing sooooooper-well. Very less usage and a drop only to 70% is awesome. Also, since there is some drop, I think you're fine and you're off the charts now. Myne's not dropping even a percent

Ill keep a check over a couple of days more, else return the watch for that recall campaign or a swap...

Thanks again for your inputs n good luck to other B50 users...

Now 5 months since repair return, still not off by a single second. I guess this will be my last post... I don't need to give a "month by month" report from now on. Hope that they conquered the manufacturing problem, and that no one else will have all the problems.

Thanks for the quick update David. I'm really sorry to bother you, but wanted to ask a couple of questions so I could check against mine.

1. After the repair from the brand, are you getting a one-to-one turn response with the crown in both directions?
2. Is the battery drain linear? Or 1-2% here and there?

No problem at all! Glad to help. In answer to your questions:
1) If you mean does every "click" of rotation of the stem change the display, the answer is "no". I generally keep my display "locked" (three quick pushes of the crown") on the date/day display, and so I really don't encounter any problem. However, I just "unlocked" it, since I have never tried to determine if one click changed the display. I found that regardless of whether I turn it clockwise or counter clockwise (anti-clock wise) it seem random as to whether the display changes. I just tried it both ways, both slowly and quickly, and I find that if I do it slowly, it can take as many as 9 clicks before the display changes. I could not establish any pattern of the changing, i.e., it might take 5 clicks to leave the UTC mode on one cycle, and only 2 clicks the next time. Likewise, the speed of rotation of the crown does not seem to matter. I have found it is just "hit or miss" when I change displays. For example, if I want to check the remaining battery %, I just spin the crown after unlocking the function, and just keep doing it until I get the battery % display. Hope this helps. Is it SUPPOSED to change display one click at a time?
2) The battery seems to deplete at about 2 to 3 % per day, as I do keep the "tilt lighted display" function turned on. I have used it that way since I got it, and that seems to be the average. I haven't noticed any sudden drops. I just have the charger plugged in on my dresser, and every week or so, I put it to charge a couple of hours before I go to bed. I have only used the wall charger, never tried to charge from a USB source. Hope this also helps.
David
