OK so one strap on steel case coming up...

OK, let me see what i can do. Here is the SOHC. Some matching red stitching on the croc would really set it off ;)

It would be nice to see a yellow steelfish too........I am liking what I see so far, but it is still early and tossing around another option or two may not be a bad idea????

That looks pretty sharp, I'm changing my mind about the red.

What if it was a black bezel, red dial, black subdials with red subdial hands? There is a SE for the reno air races with red subdial hands and it looks pretty sharp.

I think we are on the right track though! FWIW :D

OK, now that I see the red black combo, i like it. What is the retial price of the SOHC? I ask because unlike all our other Breitlings, we not only wont get our 20%+ off but are probally looking at a premium above MSRP.

PS I already have a black croco, how about a black OR (I dont have one of those!)

The way that this will work is that if Breitling agree to do it they will create a new reference number and establish a MSRP for that reference. The MSRP will be used solely to establish the dealer price (as a % of MSRP) so discounts will still be possible, but no one can responsibly say at this point that their AD will offer discounts relative to the current SOHC because no one knows what this model would cost.

I would respectfully suggest that we all avoid speculation on price at this point. I have a number of possibilities that would help make this a more affordable option, but I have no intention of posting my thoughts publicly.

If and when we get to a point where we can move forward then we can have a discussion via e-mail with the group as to what the various options are.

For the record - I have no intention of trying to make anything on this deal in terms of cash or gifts, I will provide complete transparency to the group taking part in the purchase when I have something material to report. Rampant public speculation about discounts, plans to buy multiple pieces for investments, etc will not help our cause.

Sorry if this sounds like a lecture, but let's maximise our chances of success.

Thanks guys!

For the time being, I'm just focusing on helping with the design options. Once we narrow it down and look like we can get enough people to put down a deposit we can talk about the nitty-gritty ;)

I'm not really feeling the steelfish personally, but this might help visualize the option.

For the record, I like the SOHC design as a starting point.

Sorry but no photoshop skills here on my side, but:

My very dream about my watch is:

SOHC with 39-40 mm diameter, blue dial and bezel, black sub-dials and black calender discs, that is with day-date feature! (Day-date placed just like on the CSO or the Bentley GT). I would wear this dream on the mesh bracelet.

I wouldn't mind calling this a LE, a Seriee Speciale, an Anniversary Edition, or whatever, as long as I can have one of these...

I'm sure many may argue against this size, and I'm not offending them: let's have this series of watch in both sizes! Now (e. g.) I'm proudly wearing my Chrono Cockpit on the 20 mm mesh bracelet with the Pilot bracelet resting in my safe - together with my CSO on ProII. and Aviastar (Navi bracelet to come later). Having a small-to-normal wrist of the size 6.75" I tend to prefer watches of 39-40 mm (Chrono Cockpit is 39 mm) but can wear almost any watch between 36 and 42 mm, with my wife usually wearing a ladies size watch, her daily wearer being the maximum she takes: the Breitling Colt Oceane, being cca. 33 mm.

Nota bene: I've tried on several times the Omega Speedy Pro on bracelet and in the end never bought it: it proved to be to big for me because of the bracelet making the watch "too long", even the head is "only" 42 mm. Same issue with the IWC Aquatimer Chrono, difference is that I like very much the design of the Speedy Pro and dislike the AT design. So I only speak about sizes here.

I'd be soooooooooo happy if someone could photoshop the SOHC I've dreamed!!!! In the end it all depends on the headquarters of Breitling/Grenchen....

Best regards: Robertus

Now other thoughts as well as I've read through the whole thread:

- why not have the BreitlingSource logo engraved or stamped on the ROTOR??? That of the Valjoux 7750 can offer place enough for that.

- why not dividing this 50 pieces to decades, regarding size, colors, maybe weekday feature on the dial? (I'd be very astonished if one of next years BASEL/Genf new Ling wouldn't be the "normal" size SOHC). You could easily bind wishes of 5 times 10 pieces together and I do not think price difference could be an issue (compared to the single 50 piece series). The only hope is the weekday issue on the dial - one of the main reasons I went for the CSO as well.

- I remember the IWC Forum Inge a few years back having had good popularity - as one of the templates of the present idea maybe. I used to be partly an IWC guy and still have my 2 IWC-s (BTW a ceramic and a steel Fliegerchrono, both 39 mm) so that's why I know about this Ingy-thingy. They could do it with a positive outcome, why shouldn't we?

- Regarding size again: with aging, people usually return to older values, wearing normal size watches being one of these. Being 47 now I've also had excursions for larger watches (namely up to 44 mm) but now my largest is the CSO (42 mm) and I wear proudly from time to time a. o. my 36 mm Calatrava ref. 3998 too. (I think and hope that mentioning other brands doesn't offend forum regulations, as I'm mainly a Breitling fanatic, with sometimes doing small excursions...)

Regards: Robertus

I really like it Mario, although I would probably prefer black calf instead of the croc, but either would do. Anyway. green light as well.

Hate isn't the right word, but it's not really doing it for me. Can't put my finger on it but there's something just a little bit cheesy about it. I mean, it does look nice (and the photoshop job you've done is great) but it doesn't make me want to hand over my hard-earned for one of them.

I think the green bezel looked much classier, although I agree that makes it look like a Rolex LV wannabe so it's out of the question for that reason.

Something about the black croc strap isn't quite there either, doesn't look like it was made to go with the head. Black calf might look better, as andrewpc suggested.

black Ocean Racer....

Any thoughts on going to the normal SOH46 instead? This would keep the price a little lower.
