Drinking your kool aid just means believing everything you hear, that's the way I have always understood it.

to me its always meant unwavering devotion to a person, process or thing and never questioning it. so what i think the op meant was we keep believing in the brand while being dismissive/antagonistic of others who may assail/question it.

i agree with driver8 that he prob wasnt a troll.... he provided lots of details. i can see how people may feel he has an attitude but if i were him going thru that, i dont think id act that different.

also agree with driver8 that its time this thread be put out to pasture...

And lastly, I really think this thread is done now, so what say we let it drift away?

Fine by me. I just want to acknowledge that, obviously, I was way off base with the whole Kool-Aid interpretation. I was the one who was unaware of the meaning of a given phrase, and I'm sorry I took us down this road - not for the OP's sake, necessarily, but for the rest of us.

Read through this thread I come to this conclusion. I think the OP's way of handling this situation has negatively affected the soulution.

If you want results remain calm when dealing with people. People will do whatever they can to help you if you remain polite.

This is generally a great forum, very helpful and welcome to noobs. I think this thread is an exception, unfortunately. It appears that the OP spent a lot of money (he probably paid full retail) for a watch that doesn't keep good time, and now that it has been returned the communication for the repair is lacking. I don't blame him for being upset. My first mechanical Breitling also had to be returned within the first year for not keeping good time. It's been great since. And my third Breitling had to be serviced under warranty as well, now that I think about it.

So, if you're still around OP, best of luck to you! This can be a very good resource, but I doubt you'll be buying another Breitling, huh? ;)

We're nice to noobs who are nice to us. I can only speak from my own experience, but when I'm new to a forum, I'm very careful to tread lightly and not upset the locals. The OP didn't do that.

Wait...weren't we letting this thread die?
