there is no doubt that Breitling makes some stylish watches but the only piece that has stood the test of time is the Navitimer IMHO. Everything else has faded in and out.

as for the LV vs Chanel example I think this would be a better comparison if you compared Rolex (this would be LV) against Audemar Piguet (this would be chanel). If you were to classify Breitling as a purse they would be more comparable to Gucci. Designer but not quite as high end as the other 2.

Yes i know its sad that i know this stuff about bags but my wifes purse collection might give my watch collection a run...

Hey Listen :poke: , if you truly believe that that the only "stylish" Breitling watch that stood the test of time is the Navitimer and everything else faded then I completely respect your opinion just as IMHO, Rolex watches are overhype, overrated, overpriced stale looking watches that look exactly like duplicates of the watches it made half a century ago.

By the way, my gf who is connected to the fashion industry for many years now is quite amused with your comment that Gucci is not quite as high end a as Louie Vuitton! She said becoming a member at purseforum.com will probably enlighten you.

no thanks i want to stay away from that place. i have seen it a few times because my wife is a member over there, but their crazy hobby is exactly that.....crazy.

This whole thread is like watching a merry go round that never ends. Where is the Carny to hit the stop button?

In addition, as said before, these are people's opinions, some based on facts, but mostly based on personal preference. All in all I like 2-3 rolex models, and probably 2-3 models from almost any watch maker. Like what you like and and buy what you want....

:soapbox:

Dear Santa,

What I would really really really really like for Christmas is for this thread to stop once and for all. I have been very good all year and I do believe in you (even though I am in my late 40's :D ). I would be so thrilled to wake up on Christmas day to find that you have made my wish come true. Oh, and if you could possibly throw in a Breitling Chrono Evolution while you're at it - that would be great (okay, so perhaps I am asking for a bit much with the watch :D). Thanks very much in advance  .

Damn,

Gliebig, that is a beautiful watch. You made me go on to the Rolex website to find out what it is. I can't believe that I have actually seen a picture of a Rolex that I like. Yes, very nice but way out of my league. I hope Santa makes your wish come true :D .

Still love Breitlings though :lingsrock:

The funny thing is that on RF this thing seemed to draw the most hate from the members over there. I guess it's kinda like the way that this place went crazy after the monstrosities Brietling released at Basel. The difference being that the Daytona isn't hideous.

What's even funnier is that on RF they liked some of the Breitlings that we didn't like over here. :lingsrock:

That Daytona is beautiful. I wonder if they'll come out with a SS version in a year or two?

Yup - 'there's now't so queer as folk' as they would say up here in the North of UK.

For your benefit alone Roman - it's a Northern UK saying which roughly translated means 'there's nothing quite as strange as people'. Hope that's resolved it for you :) .
