The small fry can become a big fry in the future or lead other ones to your shop , if treated right . Snobby attitude has led me away from doing business in the past and I am sure not the only one that did so .

How the hell did this thread go in the direction it did???

@ Driver: Pertaining to a diamond turning a color. I to consider myself pretty educated as it used to be a huge hobby of mine, reading, inspecting collecting (VERY) small near flawless diamond etc. Anyways, my gf's mother once told me that back when she was married to my gf's father they used to move every few years due to his career. Each time they moved he bought my gf's mother a gift (USUALLY JEWELRY). Anyways he went to the jewlery store with her and she picked out two 2ct saphire stones to put on the sides of a 4ct diamond and design a custom ring. Three days after purchasing the ring she was at work and she worked in the accounting department. She had been working with carbon paper all day. Her then husband called her on the phone and while she was tlaking to him she looked and her ring and her diamond was completely black. She took it back to this VERY TRUSTED jewelry store and the guy looked at it and what had happened was it had a VERY MINOR crack/inclusion in the bottom of the diamond. When she was working with the carbon paper the particles got in there and filled various areas inside her diamond.

To sum this up he walked her back in the vault, rolled out his diamond book and told her to "pick one" she ended up with a 7ct diamond of even better cut and color than the one that turned black.

I still to this day have found this ot be the most interesting diamond story I have ever heard.

Liori Diamonds sells Clarity enhanced diamonds. It's important that customers know this as my sister was upset after she requested a GIA report and found out GIA as a matter of policy doesn't certify the clarity enhanced diamond.

Liori Diamonds does disclose they use clarity enhanced diamonds but it's buried and in some places and the education link is broken. How coincidental is that? Anyway I'm surprised they are getting away with the prices they are charging for these falsely graded diamonds. They are overpriced in my opinion given that they aren't true diamonds. See below.

This is why it's best to visit a store and not purchase online.

Stay away from these:

1. The enhancement is done on cheap stones with lots of imperfections. However, "clarity enhanced" does not improve the value.
2. The process of improving the stone clarity will weaken the stone. It is thus far more likely to crack or chip in the future.
3. An engagement ring is a "heavy use" ring as it will be worn every day. These stones are unlikely to stand the test of time.
4. Most importantly, the stones might not make a good impression with your fiancé.

They can fracture easily because of the fillings, with something as simple as setting them. Even the wrong amount of heat could cause them to break right in half at the filling. Cheaper does NOT mean better. They are often acid washed and filled with glass material.

Some jewelers won't set it on a new setting. It has to do with certain risks & an enhanced diamond has to be cold soldered.

dug that one out of nowhere, but its against the law to sell clarity enhanced diamonds and treated stones, and not disclose it to the customer. there are literally dozens of treatments out there for diamonds, some of which the labs don't find out about for years after they have been missing it, its kind of scary. gotta be careful out there, i wouldn't buy a diamond, bezel or ring for that matter from someone i didnt trust, its not worth it.

Fun reading , but whatever happened?.....did 123 Breitling get his bezel repaired? Fly to the big city and punch Al? Did more diamonds fall out? Did Sharky get revealed as Brett Farve? Was the return key found? Did everyone involved swear off diamonds on men's watches? Did the C Class get washed at the dealer like an S? Inquiring minds must know!

This is a very informative website and I would like to share my experience with liori. I had purchased a ring from liori diamonds and requested a GIA report and found out GIA as a matter of policy doesn't certify the clarity enhanced diamond.

Liori diamonds does disclose they use clarity enhanced diamonds on their website.

Clarity enhancement is done on cheap stones with lots of imperfections. The process of improving the stone clarity will weaken the stone. It is thus far more likely to crack or chip in the future. An engagement ring is a heavy use ring as it will be worn every day. These stones are unlikely to stand the test of time.

They are often acid washed and filled with glass material.

I hope this helps.

I don't know why you even bothered Al with this ridiculous problem. I can see why he stopped answering your calls over this petty issue. If the glue stopped holding the diamond in place, you should have just glued it back in. Why would you waste all of that money and time on shipping the bezel back to Liori when you could have just fixed it yourself? Also, does anyone have any Rolexes for sale? I need some money drastically.

Are you kidden me laxrolex.. did you not read the entire post? The reason I had a problem with this is because some of the diamonds are turning a rust color are you going to wear a watch like that? NOT ME.. and how the F am I going to fix the bezel? thats why I paid those hacks to do it and made that decision on there misleading warranty claim on there web site...I know it has been a some time since your post but this is the 1st time since my last post I have read anything from this site.. so for you to say "I don't know why you even bothered Al with this ridiculous problem" How about.. I don't know why they would but that bullshit on there web site if they were not going to honor it.. Great f-ing questions aren't they?...idiot

Sold the watch... cheap too... bought a Zenith el primero chronomaster open date.. Nice watch...No diamonds for me unless they are factory!! I learned my lesson... do you want to know how to turn a 5,500 dollar watch in to a 3k watch?? put a $1,000 worth of junk diamonds in the bezel and let those bastard hacks from liori do the work!! haha I'm ok with learing that now than sending one of my $$ watches in and loosing a bunch more... LESSON LEARNED!
