We neophytes appreciate the vintage collectors and the history with which you provide us. But...that does not mean we will view what you view as an obvious choice as our choice for favorite or greatest Breitling. I can appreciate the historical value and at the same time acknowledge that the 806 is not a piece I would ever care to own. So cut us some slack, Jacks. :)

Many people just don't like vintage (i.e. worn/used) looking pieces. If Breitling released a new version of the 806 (think, Omega's Ploprof 1200) then I reckon many people (including myself) would buy one. A lot of people can't stand *ahem* "patina", and other signs of use (especially if those signs of use were caused by someone else), so things like darkened lume, scratch-happy plexiglass crystals, uncrisp edges to the case due to wear, etc - just won't appeal to a lot of people these days.

As with anything in life it's horses for courses I guess.

+1

+2 - I want, want, want to appreciate "patina," but I just can't get there.
+3 in spades...

Some very interesting choices! Surprised to see the Crosswind over the Crosswind Special. I voted for the CA over the CA LE - come on, an LE of 25 watches??? Nice to see the Chronomat doing so well. The Olympus versus the Monty 1461 is a particularly awkward choice. My signature gives a hint which way I went, even though I once had the Olympus. And you vintage guys should get your revenge at last  - the new "world" collides as the Steelfish goes against the World. Gonna be tough for the Fish to survive this round.

Thanks again Roff for your effort and time.

Agree, and sorry to see the Blackbird get upset so early :( . Definitely some tough 2nd round match-ups.
