I would prefer that to more facepalm pictures for the however many dozenth time.

Is Breitling experimenting with new case materials? Ceramic or carbon fiber? As much as I want to see the progression of the 01 movement, I really want to see a new case introduced....and I'd still love to see a SOHC with a ceramic bezel and an inhouse movement.

Who knows. Common sense says that they have to be at least considering it given how successful others have been, and they have just reintroduced titanium (although I think that it's still grade 2). Much as I hate to harp on the same theme of money, but if Breitling is now pretty fully vertically integrated and has case making in house they may not be able to afford to make the changes / additions to equipment that it would take to work ceramics.

They could outsource, but I'm not sure how much capacity there is among companies who can produce ceramic / carbon fibre / tanatlum / other watch cases; and I'm not sure how much willingness there is at Breitling to commit to that kind of external contract.

SOHC with a ceramic bezel and in-house movement would be bad ass. Not to mention some extra WR rating and it'll be a true contender among divers...

Well if they added a pearl so it could function as a diver

Two, to be exact, although your math might warrant a third. :poke:

It wouldn't hurt if they added numbers, too, so people could tell at a glance how much time had elapsed, rather than having to count the ticks. I can't imagine that's too convenient when diving...or any other time, for that matter.

Two in this thread, many dozens in the forum as a whole, though your obtuseness and persistent refusal to heed reminders of the rules of the forum on respect and insults may warrant another :!:

I agree. It's actually a nice looking watch. Very JLC'esque.

Roff, I have NEVER posted a facepalm photo before the two in this thread, either on this forum, or anywhere else. If you can show where I have, please do.

I have NEVER said that you did. I implied that I didn't need to see any more facepalm photos and you decided that I was referring exclusively to you - sorry, but you aren't that high up in my thinking.

As far as a ceramic bezel SO44, Breitling may do it, but only if they can figure out how to completely wrap the bezel in coloured rubber.

He at least has never been so bold as to use the QF - the Quadruple Facepalm.

:uplaugh:

On a more serious note - Breitling soooooo missed the boat on this one. The big players go ceramic over enameled aluminium and Breitling goes rubber. We have beat this point to death on many threads, but as I sit here today, Breitling not only embarrassed themselves, they embarrassed us - the Breitling loving community. But for the Navis, they have lost me completely. I'm no longer as adverse to the new metal bezel as I once was, so the manufacture Chronomats are ok by me, but not at that price point.

Not much rah-rah here from the "Forum Facilitator" - Breitling has lost me and needs to work hard to win back my confidence in and desire for the brand. End of Discussion.

Tom, not sure I am following you, why have the navi's lost you? I thought you loved the 01 LE.

On another note, that's only he second time I ever heard the word obtuse used, the first time was in shawshank.

An Inhouse SO with ceramic bezel would be fantastic if they kept it at the same price range as the Planet Ocean and didn't use pastel colors to outline the subs. Breitling should let us design a watch for them.
