Well then my communication skills are lacking too, I was completely ignorant to any racial connotations associated with Kool Aid.

I've read this post on and off. All I can say is sorry for your problems.

I'm sure that there's been an issue in communicating between the two instances you've had to deal with. I also completely understand the frustration going on here. But what you need to bare in mind is that these types of watches aren't assembled on a production line like you would see with canned spam. But they're to some extent assembled by hand, by a human being. Human beings make mistakes sometimes. Sorry to say that you've experienced that first hand. But I think it's a bit ignorant to blame a whole brand, which by the way produces a substantial amount of watches each year, for one defect watch.

Troller is looking for a response...ANY response, and he will chum the waters with complaints, insults, compliments, and inflammatory tidbits hoping that someone...ANYONE, will take the bait. Generally quite harmless - practices a form of catch and release. Nonetheless, he can upset the delicate ecology of a discussion forum. Once a forum becomes aware of his presence, however, all feeding activity ceases and Troller must move on to more promising waters.

I was sure the OP was a troll from the start. I never feed trolls; hence I didn't post in here.

I've said I didn't think he was a troll, but in reflecting on my first post in here, I did say to the OP, "what is the point of your post?" No questions, no pertinent information - just bitching. That should have clued me in. Pity we didn't see it sooner.

Dunno whether a Troll would have been able to name the Breitling POC he claims to have dealt with. Not someone I'd really want posting here regularly even if he was genuine though - kinda prickly.

I'm not saying he made up his story. In retrospect, though, it does seem as though his primary purpose here was to dismiss the brand and rile up the community, possibly due to the frustration he felt. Whatever the reason, there didn't appear to be any constructive purpose to his posts.

Drinking your kool aid just means believing everything you hear, that's the way I have always understood it.

We may have a winner. I'd never heard it used this way.

In light of that, I guess it's fair to say the OP wasn't being racist, but he sure was being a dumbass.

What a strange thread this has become. :huh

Couple of things from me on this one -

Firstly, I don't think the OP is/was a troll at all. I think he is an irritated customer who no doubt expected more but (possibly) didn't go about communicating with Breitling in the best way. I say "possibly" only on the basis of how we had to work to get any information out of the guy. I personally think he just wanted to vent on here.

Secondly, assuming my first point is correct (which I believe it is.... obviously! ) I'm not entirely sure if we (as a forum) came out of this particularly well in terms of being understanding. Sure, a few of us offered some advice that wasn't acknowleged.... but then as I said above, I get the impression he just came he to vent, not to look for a solution per se anyway.

And lastly, I really think this thread is done now, so what say we let it drift away?
