I would be bummed if I owned a polished BB, which is the one I would buy. I would def want the special BLACKBIRD caseback.

You see, I actually like the caseback on mine better. I think the one that just says BLACKBIRD looks like it should be on a toy or something. That was actually the only thing I didn't like about BB's, I guess I got lucky.

I can see where you are coming from. Almot like a little cheesy in a way. Not as refined.

Exactly, I know it's a Blackbird, the caseback that I have says Blackbird, I don't need it in giant block letters. Not that I would turn it down if it did have the other caseback, but I like the more traditional one. What would be awesome is if the had a picture of a Blackbird (the jet) on the caseback. Since they designed the Blackbird based off of the jet's stealthy look then I think it would have been pretty cool. But I guess everyone has some little thing that they would like different about every watch.

Yes. I think the only watch I have ever liked everything about well all but one is the 6.75 B4B. The only thing I would change is take all red markings off the dial. I think it would class it up a bit more.

Turns out, despite all the mockery, this guy appears to have been correct:

Despite the fact that I may have been the source of much of the mockery, I think it looks really good. The black/red combo resembles a real SR-71 much more than all previous models.

Now that i've a chance to really look at this watch and think about it ....I hate it even more than I initially did. The bloodbird doesn't do it for me.

I actually like it but think it would look a lot better in brushed / matte than polished

If this is real, I will wait for the 'hate' / release so the real-world selling price drops like a rock

I cant imagine resale prices every dropping below a regular backbird, simply because its not a very radical change from the standard one. If anything, its LE status will keep it more desirable. Just my thought, anyway.

The brushed version has the "BLACKBIRD" caseback, and the polished version has the regular Chronomat caseback.

Well said Serge. They really screwed up IMO with the red for the date font.

Maybe if the friggin date wasn't red also it would look a little better, still don't like it though.
