Hey now...don't go dissing on Rolex fans. We're not all "those" guys.

I know. I should caveat my comment by saying the Rolex guys on here are the exception that proves the rule. The guys here actually understand and appreciate what the watch truly is. The general public simply wants one because of Rolex's marketing campaigns.

Did they explain why there would be a delay?

Warranty work is given a priority, but there could still be a backlog of work that meant that they couldn't get to it straight away, or they could be putting the watch through a series of adjustments / tests to see if it fixes the issue. It may sound silly, but adjusting is not simply a case of adjusting and then putting it on the timing machine - all mechanical watches (not just Breitling) are affected by temperature, position, amount of power reserve, etc, so to test accuracy in the real world requires tests over time under multiple different conditions.

Clearly any company will have 'good' and 'bad' examples of their product and their service, but I and many others have found that Breitling is usually pretty open about what they are doing. However, as I noted earlier, communication is a two way street.

well, as others have said, no great loss.

look at how he treats people trying to help, not a word of thanks.
can you imagine how the OP acts when HE IS THE CUSTOMER ?
like he owns Breitling and, of course, all the people working for him are his serfs.

can understand a guy like this would not receive the best possible service ......

@JacksonStone: pompous, unfriendly, agressive yes, but what did strike you as racist ?

As I stated this guy is most likely a troll

The Kool-Aid reference (or as he misspelled it, "cool-aid"). African Americans are often pejoratively said to like Kool-Aid. Breitling is also known to be a favorite watch among rappers and hip-hop artists, many or most of whom are African American. By telling a whole Breitling forum to "keep drinking the cool-aid," I can only presume he was making a link between the two. If there is some other reason he used the term in this context, I can't think of what it would be.

The cool- aid remark could also be about the cool aid many cult leaders give their followers before they take their last trip and die !! again just a troll why waste any more time on this ass clown ?

Well, that's a reason I hadn't thought of. I guess it could be either one.

I actually don't think he is a troll. He seemed to have an honest grievance with his watch and the service he received. Unfortunately, his social and communication skills are about on a par with your average fourth-grader, and for that reason, I agree with you: dealing with him any further is likely a waste of time.

As a British-Canadian WASP, I am slightly uncomfortable with the suggestion of racism. In my (perhaps sheltered) mind Kool Aid references are usually recalling the Jim Jones / Jonestown cult. Suggestions of racism take things to a whole new, very ugly, level and I don't think that was intended.

Meaningless, but little known trivia - Jones didn't even use Kool Aid, it was FlavorAid.

The Kool-Aid reference has always been associated with cults to me; I'd never even thought about associating it with a specific race. If anything, I'd associate it with children.

I've never heard of FlavorAid, but a nice piece of trivia to know nonetheless.

I see racial slurs all the time on the Internet. Comment sections on many websites are rife with such insults. Moderated web forums suffer less from this, but if a non-established member is intent on flipping everybody the bird, it doesn't strike me as too far-fetched that he might employ a racial epithet in doing so. Kool-Aid is well known for its racial overtones, depending on the context in which it is used, as the Urban Dictionary entry makes clear. If that isn't how the OP intended his comment to be taken, it's still an unwise choice to use the term, insofar as it could be taken that way. Yet another example of how his communication skills are lacking.

I didn't mean to start a huge debate on this, or a discussion on race relations. I just made my comment in passing, while still trying to process the OP's juvenile behavior. I'm content to let people infer his comment how they will.

I didn't see one time where you ackowledged anyone taking time to offer help. Now who does that...take, take, take, demand, demand, demand, and offer nothing in return?? Hmmm...it sounds familiar. OHHHHH YEAH, that would be children.

Glad you enjoyed you time here. Hope you find what you are looking for.

read my mind Sharkman. Not one hint of appreciation. Just lashing out.

Yeah. Ok, now you're talking ;)
If the OP thinks Bretling fans drink the magic juice, he certainly is not a seasoned WIS, or even a FNG WIS. Think some drink the Red Bull version Some of those Rolex groupies have a secret handshake. I think...they haven't shown it to me even after 27 years of wearing 'em ;)

I purchased my first Breitling 2 weeks ago after admiring them for a couple of years. Was i ever disappointed, it could not maintain the accurate time. I sent the watch back and am even more disappointed with customer service. My opinion of Breitling is now terrible, i would never suggest anyone purchase one and I regret I did.

The smiley is what gets me.
