Ah Ling Man! Good to have you back to shake things up a bit! And may I say what a fine introduction for some of the newer guys who weren't here on the early days.

I've not watched your videos yet but I'm sure they'll be as informative and educational for the membership as ever.

By the way, where IS Sportback???

I think that this has been one of the funniest threads in a very long while, in part because Ling Man is back, but for the most part because a lot of the repartee has been between Ling Man and members who have no history of him.

As a general rule for the uninitiated, Ling Man is one of the original crowd who is well known for his strong (and always right) opinions, but who always speaks in jest (as long as you remember that his opinions are always right) - he is not trying to cause upset or friction.

Ling Man is also respeonsible for the Ling grading system (Full Ling, Half Ling, etc)

It's my understanding that the Count has been previously 'formally warned' against personal attacks on forum members. This surely sounds like a personal attack in my opinion. :banhim:

Oh and I entirely agree with the Ling Man on all points above.

So have you, and I can easily read that as a personal attack on him.

I warned you both privately and it made no difference, I issued formal warnings and it makes no difference, so let's do it publicly (with apologies for going off topic).

I have no idea what your issues are with one another, and I don't care. People don't want to find thread after thread turn into you two attcking one another (yes I know that last night's comment from CountDuckula wasn't directed at you). If you insist on continuing to go after one another then I only have one escalation left open to me.

Cut it out, now and for good.

Roff, I was not attacking him, as I know... we were both having a good time, he made me laugh with the videos he posted yesterday and we were joking. With his second post I could see that he is a very funny guy so no problem with him at all.
As difference as mfserge I never insulted anyone in this forum, I don't know why he keeps going with this stupid "war". I'm really tired and I will completely ignore him.

I believe I recommended that privately to both of you several days ago.

Hmm...with words like "mother," "do it," "job," "dirty," and "ling," there is something disturbingly Freudian in that statement. Nevertheless, I agree with you about the bracelets, and the rubber. I look forward to you setting the record straight.

Welcome back, by the way. I had come across some of your posts when searching the archives, and am glad to see you're still in the land of the living.

As a dedicated vintage guy I would know nothing about rubber straps and very little about bracelets, but I enjoy reading this thread !
Actually it is quite surprising that anybody would mix up watch bracelets (clearly defined metal or other non-flexible material, mostly with links) and watch straps (flexible, mostly rubber or leather), both of them under the definition "watch band" to exclude the non-linked golden bracelets from pre-watch ancient Egypt.

Have you been reading the New Yorker today, JacksonStone ? Not that I would ever think you would copy your words from anywhere ....
WatchFred, who loves your comments & remembers them well .....

That's good news for us newbies (or uninitiated), it sure promises for future posts and is an asset to this forum.

Keep up the good work Ling Man

BTW I did a search and found nothing on the grading system but maybe I did not search where I should. Any tips?

Search for 'full ling' and you'll soon have a headache.

That's what I meant Roff, I DID have a headache. I was looking for the original post by LING MAN, if there was one per se.

I have a Back ache... More Codeine please (Legal over the counter and from Docs in the UK before you ask).

Posting here is fun, more so than on other forums that have no sense of humour.
Personally I'm much happier taking the piss out of myself than others who may not fully understand the inuendo (quite happy to take the Micky out of Americans and guys that like diamonds on thier girly watches though).

I have posted after a drink or three before, and rest assured that I will again and that I love you all (apart from as mentioned above).

Really not caring about my OP anymore.

Giz a kiss
