I used to own over 20 watches, many of which were very inexpensive. Over time, however, I sold them all off and used the money to purchase watches of a higher quality. This seems to take care of me just fine and all are of exceptional quality for their price range.

I am in a similar situation right now . I ll probably do the same.

As the longtimers will attest, I don't reveal my collection, but I will say that 'too many' has to be a very personal decision. I have a number of pocket watches that I never wear, but that I can display and admire for their aesthetic and mechanical beauty. I also have some vintage wristwatches that aren't practical daily wearers, but I don't regret buying them for a second.

What all of my watches have in common is that they mean something to me - big or small. A time in my life, a person, an event, sometimes just remembering what I was doing when I first obtained the piece. That's a meaningful connection that I appreciate whenever I strap the watch on, even if it is only once in a while.

As always, very well said Roff

We do live in a funny world. :(

Im showing that comment to my gf so she doesnt register for 6 sets of flatware, 3 blenders, 2 toasters, 466 coasters, 16 wine racks, 67 placemats, 12 wine stoppers and 1,000,000 wine glass hanging things that mark which glass is yours even though we only hae like 20 friends. LOL

I just e-mail my wife links from the buy/sell forum. That's how I got my Blackbird and I also got the question "Why the hell is that Panerai $3500?", she didn't get my explanation but she did like the Zenith.

Gym, I have 5 decanter sets in my garage, I'll send you one for your wedding. :poke:

Ya right...Then I have to invite you which will cost me way more in dinner and with your terrible drinking habit you have than that decanter set you'll give me!

Hi,

The most i owned at one time was 11 Breitling and 5 Omega..But sadly due to economy and being self employed one had to go after another. Now i simply have the 5 Breitlings.
