I have 7" wrists and while the watch looks huge to everyone else, as you wear it, it looks fine. I have a blue dial and it looks awesome. Also, something to consider is putting it on a strap as opposed to the braclet, which kind of makes it look a little more refined. I have pics of my blue dial small wings on gold croc with deployant in the gallery section if you want to see shots.

Does anyone know the actual thickness of the 6.75 - this site says it is 15.6mm compared to the Motors 15.2 - but surely the Bentley wheel on the back makes more than 0.4mm difference - other sites have varying thicknesses up to 17.4mm - cant believe I havent got a ruler in my house to measure mine

You've got something that small surely :uplaugh:

Tried on a buddie's SA to see if I thought it looked right on my 6'3", 230 frame. Personally, I was glad I did, because although I love the watch, I thought it was a little big one me. On him (guy has about a head on me), it looks OK.

So although I don't pine over one, if I had the chance I might pick one up.

This old thread shows something funny about how even a short amount of time efects trends, fashion and allso our opinnions. Even with traditional brands like B. About two years ago, where this old thread was resurrected, big watches had just started to become in vogue. Before this poll was dusted out, it was almost fifty fifty, with "too big" just a little a head and in couple of days it shows a notable change.

Now, because there´s been some time to get used to bigger sizes, the "just right" on the poll is starting to break away and critics of the big size has slowly faded away. The amount of love the SA is recieving everywhere these days, it´s probably B:s most talked about, most popular and most sold model by now. At the same time it´s becomming one of the most identifiable Breitling pieces.

Just a fascinating change that I realized, what´s happened over a few years time with general views about the SA.

I definitely think big watches are here to stay. It will just be up to the individual to decide if it works for them.

And hey, as long as professional sports exist, there will always be a market. :)

I've actually gone the other way.. loved the big watches, and now, while I still do like them, will not buy a watch simply because it is Big. The SA to me is a watch that is desired simply because it is big. The Avenger Skyland to me is a better fit for my wrists, and looks better to me. I do like to buy super big watches just for fun, but the novelty for me wears off now. My ideal watch size has gone to 40-45, with 42-43 being the sweet spot.

I tried on the black and white dial SA's when purchasing my first Bling (went for the more dressy Navitimer World) and I liked the white dial SA the most. It's big, shiny and impressive.
The black dial I didnt like so much because of the black/red/silver combination on the dial and it gave a much more understated impression(looks more like 46mm). The white dial looks bigger and screams "look at me!".
And since I have 8" wrists, a large watch looks better on me anyway.
My next purchase will be a white arabics SA (or white dial Bentley 6.75, if I can afford it & convince my gf).

Personally I've never bought a watch just because it's big : I have to like something else about it other than just the size. However, I've NOT bought plenty of watches because they aren't big enough for me.

For me my ideal size is about 46mm. I can go as "small" as 44mm if the watch wears correctly - Panerai's seem to wear larger than a 44mm Breitling SOSF for example, which I generally find too small. I'd go as large as about 48mm. Bentley pieces are fine because they are quite flat, but I must be honest here, my SA has been getting far less wrist time these days than it used to, primarily because of the height. I still love it but I think the SA is my absolute limit in terms of all round dimensions.

So in summary my ideal range is 44 - 48mm with 46mm being the optimal.

For me the Super Avenger is just right! I prefer larger watches and feel anything within 44-46 to be ideal. At the outer limits and because it wouldn't be my one and only I would go as far as a 50mm U-Boat.
