Thanks for the pics! :D
Looks really, really cool... but my AS with B&W is still better. :D
I´m really happy about that because when I was buying the AS I was thinking if it would look better with chrome numbers. One thing that I don´t like with the new dials look is the painted B-Wings. It fits the AS nicely but the new Avenger dial is screaming for the metallic logo.

Hmmm...still really nice, but I kind of think it takes away from the sort of "military" look. It's a good idea, but I think the white stencilled numbers gave it a uniqueness.
At least with the white numbers, the date background didn't stand out so much.

Carl I agree 100%

Starting with the introduction of the SA Blacksteel, Breitling certainly seems to be trying to blur the ground between the AS (or just A now?) and the SA.

Yep, that´s what Breitling was going for. To unify the Avenger lines. Now all Avengers have stenciled chrome numbers (Avenger Seawolf had the change earlier). The Super Avenger is such a vicious monster that IMO the military style fits it perfectly. (Those who don´t like it can still get it with the batons) I think it´s a great idea to give them a unique look that separates them from the other Lings. There´s been so many (I´m one) who wants an SA but can´t handle the size so now they have the Avenger. Commercially it´s a killer move. Unfortunetaly the great AS is then sort of discontinued.

Quote:
With the introduction of this new silver font dial, will Breitling completely discontinue the white font versions? I hope this is not true as I had my heart set on purchasing a black dial white font Skyland next month.

Yes, but you will for sure still find some Skylands at AD:s for a while. The new A (Avenger) has just come out and most will have the Skyland still in stock. But I´d hurry, your probably not alone with that thought.

Quote:
The new look may also make the older AS more valuable as a collector's item.

The AS has been a very popular piece and IMO will probably become a much wanted item in the near future.

What I´m now waiting for is if they would introduce a white dialed Avenger to company my AS. I´ve been looking for a white dialed piece ever since I got the AS about two months ago and the only one I like is the SA wich is wider then my wrist and would look lke a frying pan. So the A would be just the right remedy.

Must they always make these little changes? Like I have said in other post "Breitling is trying way toooo
hard to come up with something new/different.

All this will make the ASBS much more valuable :)

The new dial is nice, but I'm happy with my white stencils :)

I'm also a fan of the white stenciled numbers, but I stopped by my local AD today, and he had the AS with the chrome numbers...I have to say, seeing it in person is making me second-guess myself. In my opinion, it totally sets itself apart from the original dial. Either way, I don't think you can go wrong.

Thanks for posting.

Personally, i like the old look better. It's getting way to close to the chronomat look, by that I just mean more polished. I miss the titanium models, good think i have a couple. Hopefully they won't polish up the emergency before I get there.

I hope they still have them available or at least up for order. :(

Hey ThomasT,
I was at my AD in Vancouver today - Time & Gold - apparently they have an AS, but with blue dial. I don't know if they could change that for you. There is a black dial in the window, but it is a Special Edition NHLPA, with the red logo on it. I think they want about 500 bucks more for that, though. It doesn't look bad, just depends upon whether or not you are into that sort of thing.
Cheers,
Carl

Hey Thomas,
Let me know how you make out. They are a great bunch at that AD. I told them I would let you know about the watch. I don't know if they discount as much as La Swiss, but I have been dealing there for over 10 years and they give wonderful service. I didn't get a chance to go by La Swiss today, though, but last time there I don't remember seeing any AS.
Cheers,
Carl

I waited awhile hoping for a white AS ... and finally said "skinny wrists be damned, I'll get an SA!" The remedy is quite good for me thus far :)
