Man, I thought it was him. I've never seen such collection - not anywhere in any watch forum! Tanfo is crazy.

Maybe they should go into competition!!! When I saw this guy's collection (and he let me handle them) I nearly fell off the chair as he brought box after box of gold!!!

Still nothing compares to the 4 wartime Panerais that I handled in Mr Ferrettis shop in Italy just 3 weeks ago - now that was something!!

As much as I understand your point but buying a replica airplane to me is like choosing to buy a $10 parachute over a $100 one. There is something unsettling about the whole idea.

To comment about the wealthy individuals that collect replica watches. In my opinion the simple fact that you have more money than you can spend doesn’t exempt you from doing things that others consider bizarre. Sometimes it’s the fact that they can afford just about anything that makes them do things that you and I might consider bizarre and obscure.

At the end of the day I couldn’t care less just as long as they don’t try to sell these replicas as OEM products. It’s the whole idea of being deceitful that gets under my skin.

The Boxster is a bit small for me, but they are suprisingly quick for a 6 cylinder automobile.

Agreed.

My father owned a 1991 928, and a 1989 911 Turbo. Great automobiles.

Aah the 928 - don't see many of those around these days. That V8 is sure sweet but I guess the flat 6 is more punchy and torquey.

Boxter screams "I can't afford a Cayman"

I had an '86 944 Turbo w/factory polished fuchs wheels. It had anti sway bars also. That thing was like a ultra fast go cart on crack! The steering snapped back instantly after a turn and I would eat up mustang 5.0's from a dead start w/ half the cylinders they had.

Someone I know just bought a Cayman... bought her from the US and drove her up.. saved himself $20K. I believe that was right before Porsche dropped their CAD prices.

To bring the discussion back to the subject, I have to say the following:

I have nothing against fake watches, unless its nearly impossible to tell the difference. Only good products are faked, so every fake tells You, that Your original is good. But when the fakes are too good, it comes to fraud and betrayal. That should be prosecuted.
