Hmm well my Panerai is worth as much if not more then when I bought it 4 years ago. Not many cars hold any valve at all. Some better then others though. Panerai much more then an Audi! I think though everyone thinks there watch is more then what you maybe comparing it to..

I don't get the auto/women comparisons. I know that cars have a much wider audience and therefore it's easier to make points with them as references. But these companies have more complicated histories and brand images than the generalizations in this thread would make it seem.

In today's watch market, there's something for everyone, at various price points. Wear what you like . . . what appeals to you . . . what gives you joy . . . and don't worry about how it makes you look to other people.

Peace

Mike

If breitling is alfa romeo, brands like Longines should be like renault or citroen right? Zeno basel should be like opel lol

everybody says wonderfull things about rolex, they are good watches for sure, but i think they are as good as breitlings, just more expensive because of the strong marketing worldwide around them not to mention they all look a like and small except the daytona that is a beautifull rolex

don`t forget that alfa romeo have poor quality materials and alfa romeos wear out too quickly, i dont see that in breitlings

i am not blind by breitling i love watches in general but, i think that breitling deserve a litle bit more than alfa romeo resemblence

How can a Breitling be like an Alfa?

Its not red.

And back off the Land Rover. http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/carreviews/dr...9/archive/ and the Jag for that matter.

But is an Alfa like a Breitling, yes, a select band of proud owners who put up with the differences between their pride and joy and the rest of the uneducated publics choices. It may cost more to run, not be quite as reliable, but when you have an Alfa parked in your drive and a Breitling on your wrist. You know!

Ian, ex Alfa, current Land Rover owner. :lingsrock:

I've reviewed the play and the call stands. Julia is hot, maybe not eye candy but hot!

Did review booth also double as a time machine? Julia hasn't been hot in years.

I quite like the Land Rover analogy... I think it's the best fit for Breitling.

Til 2007 all range rovers had bmw parts and the same 4.4 liter engine, Now they still use some bmw parts but the engines are from ford which is why the now have a supercharger in some models but that charger is made by ford and tweaked by L/R, yes it is based in india {i mean ford} but the ideas are still coming from usa. I don't think that Breitling is unreliale and a Merc. Benz is a lot less reliable than any watch out there even a Invicta my Dad wears one to work for 11 years now and it never stopped on him still keeping good time with in COSC and its not even certified. I've worked for a lot of dealerships and worked on a lot of cars and never seen any german car be reliable they all need high maintenance (just like Paris Hilton, Julia Roberts, etc.) but you pay for is not what you get in cars, in watches how ever you get exactly what you pay for if you wanna have a 5 million dollar watch good but because of all the complications there is going to be some maintenance involved but if you spend 10 grand on a gold Bently motors your going to get your money's worth...

I dont know what Ford Mustangs cost in the US but a new Mustang in Australia costs about $120,000 If Breitling was a car at least in my imagination it would be a Mustang. Its a hot car and everyone wants one!

I paid around USD$30,000 for my Mustang with the supercharger installed and saleen rims (back in 2004, got it used, its a 2002).

You can leave the dealership with a 2010 Mustang V6 for under USD$20,000.

In Europe they are VERY expensive.
