I'm not against a Panerai, but I don't think the 219 would be my first choice. I think there are better options available but I don't know if any of them are true dive watches unless you get one from the submersible line.

That's true. For me, Panerai has the greatest wrist presence though and probably would get the best bang for buck watch but not a diver in the true sense.
