A nice watch.
I'm sad that this does not feature the minute repeater of the Aerospace. How long is the watch from lug to lug? I wonder if it would have a good fit on my skinny 6.75" wrist? (As I'm typing this I'm wearing my Chrono Cockpit (NOT a women's watch! :) ) having 39 mm diameter and I think 45-47 mm total length.)
BTW is the SQ movement too large to build a "normal size" (40-42 mm for me with a 60 min count-up bezel) sports watch around it or is it only today's trend for large watches?
Enjoy!
Robert

I was just wondering how you're getting on with the B50. Any likes/dislikes? Have you had a chance to use the functions? How's the battery life?

I'm dying to learn more about this watch, but haven't been able to track one down yet!

I'm still waiting on my Night Mission (pre -ordered in May) and frustratingly I'm getting told by my AD, by other dealers and by Breitling itself nobody has had stock of the Night Mission and that its 2-3 weeks away. (I've been told this on at least three seperate occasions). Nobody seems to know why but there is a general assumption there is a tech issue?

I know you had problems Al but from your posts those seem easily rectifiable. All a bit of mystery.

Chris

I have a 7.25-7.50 wrist and it looks awful. Truly comical.

Super Avenger sits better than the B50, and I've always found them way too big on my wrist.

Hi Emile,

Yes, received my B50 Night Mission 3 weeks ago, one of the first four into the UK. Stunning looking but the same issues as Al. If I lock off the crown (with three pushes) the function I have chosen to remain on the digital display (usually the batt life indicator) should remain. For the best part it does but in an average day (assume I wear if for 8 hrs) the functions will jump as denoted by a beep. I look down at my wrist and the date will be showing or the alarm! Frustrating.

Secondly, selecting the function you want can be tricky and frustrating- twist the crown too much too quickly and you jump past the function you want, too little and it doesn't cycle at all. I get that it has more functions to cycle through than my Emergency (1) but in my opinion they haven't got it's sensitivity/feel right, it should "just work" all the time, the E1 does.

Thirdly, locking the crown works most of the time. Some times you have to press three times again or a further time. Again-not great.

Mine will be going back to my AD for a replacement. However, my concern is that there is an inherent problem with the tech in these watches that they dont know how to sort.

Looks lovely though :)

I have received our first B50 last week and after reading this thread I decided to fully test it here in my shop. Got the manual with it and tested everything they state and that for several times on several occasions and I must say that I have not found any issues (yet). Ok, the locking of the crown is a bit tricky as you need to push three times at a certain "speed" but otherwise everything works perfectly.

I tried the B50 yesterday in Birmingham City centre (Ernest Jones Bull Ring centre have one for anyone that's interested). It is an amazing watch! I'm very impressed with it. It wears much better than I anticipated. It's extremely light and not crazy oversized like the Emergency II.

The only thing stopping me from buying right now is my concern about the battery life. I've been told it should last up to 5 months with low/moderate use of the features, but I've read reports of the battery life dropping considerably on some early units.

Overall though, I love it! Very cool watch.

Good tip Wim. Perhaps thats the secret. Three pushes at a certain speed. I think we have all seen that sort of thing before with other electronic devices. Just possibly, the consistent action signals the watch to lock rather than select a menu, etc.

Battery life is not 5 months. Far from it actually. It's 70 days at its best.

Hi there guys. I'm happy to report I've had my B50 for almost 2 months now and so far no issues. I'm very happy with the watch. It wears very light and comfortable. All the functions work perfectly. I'm hoping it stays this way. ImageImageImage

I purchased my B50 last week in London, and I really like the watch. It's big but not too flash.

Sad to say, some issues...

I have noticed the my digital screen (which I have set to time and date) periodically change to alarm 1 or alarm 2 ... Even in the lock mode. I'm not sure why this happens, but I will be sending it back to breitling this week. Little thinks like this annoys me. I paid £5k+ so I expect it to work.

I also notice the crown turns are not intuitive/consistent.

Probably one of the most annoying things is the fact that Brietling will be releasing a Bluetooth version of the b50, called the B55. Had I known, I would have waited for it.

Hopefully they recall all of their b50 and issue their loyal customers (like us) with B55's...
