WatchFred: ooookkk... No wonder...I should have guessed it because I don't normally see this happening. I thought Dino's request for advice was rather polite. Then all of a sudden people start mocking at him. Wanted to ignore but couldn't stand seeing all these "cyber bullying" a young chap for no reason. At the same time I felt a little puzzled so that was why I decided to post. Will go have a look. But erm... I feel that if Dino doesn't deserve a place in this forum then just remove him from the membership. By allowing him to stay is as good as giving him a chance. This thread is a standalone case simply just asking for advice so shouldn't we be impartial and just respond the thread like any other member, unless if he is breaking the rules in this thread? If he has some other intentions to it that is against the forum's regulation then just remove it or issue a warning instead of condemning a member in this way. He is a Breitling fan after all. Anyway thks for your clarification:)

Roff: Maybe you do not know it, but your remarks in many threads often show signs of sarcasm. Take the above for example, Watchfred's response to my post was direct and understanding that he knew that I wasn't aware of certain things and informed me of it. That's good enough and I appreciate that. But yr sentences often end with some sarcasm involved and sometimes you do "play victim" as you know that many will jump to your defence. This is ok for any member since this is a forum and we are free to post our views but this might not apply well to a moderator because you represent the entire forum and what you do affects its reputation. You cannot expect everyone to always search the entire history of threads before posting anything. Many newer members like me are ignorant about these internal issues because we just read threads that draw our interest. Not just this thread but in many other threads that I often see you posting unnecessary critical remarks, especially when people don't agree with you. Sure nobody likes being challenged but have a big heart and be more forgiving, you cannot blame people who "throw stones" at you(although I rarely see that but more often see members jumping to your defence) because your words as a moderator carry weight and people will get upset when you post any comments that are not neutral.

Despite Watchfred's clarification above, I don't really deem it appropriate for a moderator to start mocking at a member out of nowhere and expect all members reading this to know what happened, or search the history to "educate" themselves first before posting anything. If I were a newbie who just joined this forum and see this, my reaction will be, "huh? a member can get mocked for merely posting pictures and asking for advice and it's a moderator who started posting those mocking remarks?" I will think twice about staying in this forum after that. As mentioned it's normal for any member to do that since after all it's a forum but it's different for your case as the moment members see a moderator's comment they slow down and read a 2nd time. Maybe I am not used to it because I have joined other forums locally and other moderators are normally direct with their comments, like, "you have broken the rules, you are not allowed to do that", "one more time and you will be banned". They have never used indirect ways like this to condemn a member.

I am sincerely giving my feedback to you Roff and sorry if I have offended you in anyway. I have taken quite sometime to type this so it's definitely not for the sake of putting you down or trying to embarrass you in anyway. You have indeed helped me many times with your advice which I thank you for. Most of the time members avoid offending moderators and despite your occasional critical comments on other threads, most of the time it's when you are being "challenged" which I do understand, but your post in this thread stunned me and despite knowing what happened now, I feel that it's still not neutral and appropriate for you to do that. IMHO if a member doesn't follow the rules and repeatedly challenge them then it's either ban him or if you allow him to stay, gotta treat him like any other member as long as he is not breaching the rules in that particular thread. Of course, you can choose to disregard my comments or feel that I am ignorant and trying to don some superior attitude when I don't know what is going on. All I can say that I am just providing my sincere feedback to the best of my ability because it's always good to feedback when I am not in the picture sometimes because many people reading this thread(might not be members) will not know what is going on too and their impression of this forum might be affected. Just like how it prevented me from reading some Watch Snob from AskMen or some Archie Luxury.

I'm a successful member on many other watch forums, and believe it or not, one of my threads has reached over 600,000 views.

I generally don't view this forum too often because there's a lack of drama that I need to keep me interested. Also, dare I say, posters are too polite. But this thread delivers (even with posters trying to be genuine and serious to this fool).
