Not if you want a proper Breitling service, and particularly not if you want to make sure everything is right with it.

Correct me if I'm wrong but you will find markings of "manufactured date" when that watch is opened up. Normally it's marked in the SS band, but the Breitling tech at the NY boutique showed me a date on a pre-owned auto I got last year.
IE: 17 12 [ means manufactured 17th week of 2012]

Yes: as the link explains, the 4-figure date code is stamped between the lugs, not inside the case. And any date code on the bracelet refers only to the bracelet and not the watch head.
