Another option is to make it sticky in this section for the duration of the "tournament".

Problem with that is that I can't do multiple polls in a single thread, so at least for early roundsI think that we need a sticky referencing them elsewhere - 32 sticky threads at the top of the main section is a bit much. Maybe move it there when we get to the quarter finals.

Now, when we say Navi, does it need to be further specified with the exact navi model?
Same perhaps goes for the Chronomat, 13048, 13050, 13352, etc...? A, B....?

I think that Navitimer is too broad, I would suggest that a model number is a reasonable distinction in most cases (ignoring case material designations). Exceptions to that would have to be considered - COSC and non COSC probably get lumped together if the model is otherwise unchanged and identical watches that changed model numbers when Breitling moved to the new numbering convention at the end of the 80s. 13048 / 13050 is more interesting - I would probably group together unless consensus is not.

Should we consider some grouping perhaps?

I was actually thinking of some kind of seeding - avoiding 'titans' from clashing in the first round, but not sure how to do that without skewing the results. No one wants classic Navitimer vs. 90s Chronomat in round 1, but if we seed (say) the top 16 in a 64 watch contest or 8 in a top 32 are we effectively 'fixing' it?

Best keep it to 13048, 13050 and 13052 counted as 3 individual watches

Does the main BS website have a count on views of the watch models viewed? could be heplful if it does.

Something to look forward to at the end of the day rather than bickering about font styles :-)))))

Here's an idea, why not run a poll by series (+ some extra's) then take the best from each one into the quarter finals?

For instance have a poll for Navitimer, Windrider, Professional, Aeromarine, Bentley, LE, Unclassified & Vintage. The winner of each one goes into a head to head 1/4 final match with winners progressing to the semis and so on.

But then you are limiting the possibility of the multiple different amazing navitimer's from competing in the finals. E.g. Navi 01 v Lemania Cosmonaute etc.

I think it should be a random draw, giving each watch an equal chance regardless of what series it comes from.

Does it matter though as there's only one overall winner? And they will have competed in the heats so the cream should rise to the top regardless. I'll go with the majority however.
