Man, I almost bought the Colt as my first Breitling. I think that I would have felt awful about it now.

I was considering one also, but have since decided against it in favor of the SW!

Looks like it does have some appeal to people who didn't know the "old Breitling".

I like it. But then again, I didn't think Beyonce was the best singer in Destiny's Child either.

The IWC reminds me of a Memosail.

Yep, call Rick Grimes. This thread's gone zombie and risen from the dead.

Sorry to perpetuate this thread, but just thinking hey, perhaps Breitling saw this thread cause they redesigned the Colt to look cool again! ;)

This debate humors me. Consider this.....

Desert Hiker (DH) walks into a Breitling AD

DH: I'm looking for an interesting design that can withstand the rigors of my active lifestyle.
AD: How about this?
DH: Round..... it looks like a cow pie!! {Note the preferred internet hyperbole technique}
AD: How about this?
DH: Oval........it's a poorly executed cow pie!
AD: How about this?
DH: It's bipolar...a square body for a round instrument!!
AD: How about this?
DH: Oh horrors....a rectangle...an unbalanced bipolar design!?!?!?!?
AD: Well, I have this leftover. It's a Colt Chronograph II, with a SuperQuartz movement. Samuel Colt was a mid 1800's pioneer in firearms design and manufacturing. Firearms of his time used a technique called rifling to inpart a spin to the bullet, thus stabilizing it and substantially improving accuracy at long distances. In the day, rifling the inside of a barrel required great skill and craftsmanship. Learn more about rifling here >>>>> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rifling The case on this watch pays tribute to the technique of rifling and imparts a distinctive look to the this fine watch.
DH: I'll take it!!!

Yes, I do have a Colt Chronograph II. It sits uniquely and comfortably among my otherwise plain round collection including Rolex, B&M, Omega and 2 other Breitlings. :poke:
