actually like cod - and Hank, according to Driver8 lives in a Norvegian fjord, so even a Skrei - but would like him more if he would leave watch design to more gifted fish.

Nope but I see now where Breitling got the idea for this globe from.

Yes, from the original Unitime, which is a beautifully understated well thought out 38mm watch , a true worldtimer, in SS with a worldmap and the same functionality (minus the chrono)

Why oh why didn't they (B) release a true homage piece instead of this.. this 'thing' ?????

Absolutely. The original Unitime is a beautiful piece of understatement. The worldmap is subtle, the date window doesn't encroach on the centre of the dial - all in all, it's just a well designed piece of watchmaking........ unlike the hideous new version. (I say "version" in it's loosest possible sense of course, as it's more of an abortion than a version when compared to the original Unitime).

Wow, the original really is a beautiful piece. What a shame that they dropped the ball in the re-making of what once was a beautiful watch

And can you only imagine what a truly sympathetic modernisation of that piece could look like - it could (and should) have been incredible.

Exactly, it had soooo much potential to be truly an amazing piece. I'm not familiar with the older pieces like this, but after seeing the old one, I hate the new one even more..... I thought it was bad before, but after seeing what could have been, it makes it look even worse.
