As a general rule, logo'd versions are worth less than the plain version because their appeal is more specialist.

There are exceptions of course, but no one should be looking to buy for future value.

The idea of a "special edition" is intriguing....I'd have to talk to the Warden.

I may be interested in the group buy depending on the saving on offer. (I probably wouldn't be interested in the Special Edition idea though).

El Rey, is your AD a Bentley AD too?

Yes it is, when Rey and I were there, they even said the discount they could offer would be greater on a Bentley vs a SA. ;)

Hmmmmmm, now I am tempted. (I'm keeping the SA's now though!) I'll have a ponder....

Guys, can interested parties PM me your desired model along with other specs of watch. I'll need to tally up a list of the models and respected specs so that I can show something when negotiating for the pricing. Thanks.

Rey

OK Rey & In2Deep

Before committing just want to clarify a couple of things.

When you say order in 4 weeks or so - if that's the case when do we pay?

Do we pay a deposit on order then the balance when it's ready to ship?

If it were order in 4 weeks - with (say) another 4 week lead time (total 8 weeks till it was ready to ship) and payment made at that stage - then I'd probably be in.

Basically - if you need the money now (or within 4 weeks), I'm broke so it wouldn't work for me this time round.

I think that the AD would want to get some kind of payment from use upon ordering. I'm negotiating for a 1/2 down at order date (hopefully within 4 weeks time, if negotiations go well maybe sooner) and then a payment for the balance prior to AD shipping out watches or personal pickups.

I will keep you up to date through PMs and if all that you will need is an extra week or two. I don't think that the AD will mind a late order especially since I think your desired model/s might be easier to obtain than the SA's. Does this help or make sense to you?

Rey

Sorry if this has already been dealt with but does anyone have an (approximate) idea how the import tax etc would be calculated for UK-based buyers?

Or is there a plan for a similar group-buy to be put together in the UK with a UK AD?

Thanks,

Nick

Id be interested in a GB in the UK, if it were in the next 4 weeks. Im going to be buying one in that timeframe anyways. I dont have an AD already as this will be my first purchase, so Im not picking on what AD it is. Not keen if its from the US, I can get the VAt back when I leave the country, so the significant savings arent there.

Anyways, Im after a blue face Chrono SuperOcean on a s/s bracelet.

Rey, are you negotiating with a dealer in California? If so, it seems California buyers, or perhaps everybody depending on logistics, will have to pay state sales tax - unless you are somehow planning on having them ship to a location out of state.

I have just purchased and received my Skyland from the USA. The import tax is charged at 17.5% of what you have paid for your watch so I paid £240 VAT on my Ling when it entered the country but even so it was still £400 cheaper than any of my local AD's.
