Chrono Superocean 5/10. I'm not sure if I will ever add another Breitling. I like to branch out and and acquire other brands... The Navi 01 is not out of the question though...

Blue faced SQ B1 back in late 2003. My experience of B'ling didn't start off very well  .

I bought my original B1 from Goldsmiths in the Trafford Centre, Manchester - I discovered that it was keeping terrible time (losing 12 secs a month) and after phoning BUK I discovered that it was not a SQ model but a Quartz (I had asked before buying and was told that it was the SQ model). So on discovering that it was not a SQ and that it was keeping pretty poor time for a quartz watch (my TAG wasn't losing that in a year), I took it back.

They agreed to replace it for a SQ model as their salesman had not realised that there was a difference. When the replacement arrived, I picked it up and noticed that the bezel seemed to feel 'scratchy'. On getting back home and after the bezel had been turned a number of times it practically seized. As luck would have it - when I had picked this watch up, the B'ling area rep was in store and he gave me his card. So, with #2 now with a dodgy bezel I decided to phone him direct - he ordered another replacement watch for me which arrived within several days.

So, that was #3 which I had until 2008 when I traded it in for an Airwolf. I couldn't believe how unfortunate I was and how very very close I came to getting rid of the B1 and getting something else. In reality - the Airwolf is my 4th B'ling :D and a lovely watch (though my first 2 were not what I expected of Breitling - I am so glad that they 'made good' :) ).

I can't remember how long I've been a Breitling fan but it's been quite a while, I'll say about 5yrs (I'm only 27 so that's a good hunk of time for me  The models that drew me to the brand were the Monts and the Bentley's they obviously catch eyes. I was in love with the regular Navitimer's too and I even journeyed to one of the only Breitling dealers in Ontario (about an hour away) just to stare and drool. I was shocked when the sales person let me try on a Navitimer and I pooped my pants that they had a 100k Navi with a blue (croc I believe) strap. I also remember being the only one is a crowd of thousands at the Red Bull air race blabbering on and on about Breitling and how sweet Nigel Lamb's plane was, I even asked him to trade me watches after he got off the podium. He laughed hahah. As far as getting my first ling, I was cruising kijiji one night and just searched Breitlings for fun and found a guy selling a Avenger Seawolf in pristine condition. I had been wanting a dive watch for a while and especially a Breitling, so I was super excited that he was only asking $2000. I wrote him a super professional email asking a ton of questions and offering him $1700. We agreed on $1800 (That was my limit so I went lower knowing he'd probably counter offer. I had the guy meet me at Swiss Time in Toronto to have the watch inspected and authenticated. Everything checked out and the watch was 98% perfect, so I slapped the cash in his hand and pissed my pants. I FINALLY got one!!!!! Almost everyone I know either didn't care about my sweet sweet purchase or they thought I was a moron, but there were a few that also know the brand and were super stoked for me. a few months later I scored a sick deal off SHARKMAN for a Ocean Racer strap w/ quick deployment clasp. So all in I've spent $2050 on a mint 2yr old watch that should retail for aprox 5k give or take haha. I wear it everywhere all the time (except bed or hard labor), I've gotten a lot of compliments on it and I can't wait to take it diving this summer.

I love my Seawolf!!!

My first was bought about 2 weeks ago, I just got married and felt like getting something to as a small gift to myself. I came on a good deal on a lightly used (barely tell its been worn) Breitling for bentley motors model, and fell in love at first sight. I had in my head that I wanted a navitimer, contemplated a diamond bezel alligator band galactic that was on sale 40% off. Saw the bentley, and it was like navi who?

Needless to say, it's a beautiful watch that I will keep forever, and has me on a watch frenzy right now. Thinking about trying to find a Bentley mark vi, and maybe a Rolex Daytona, but I love the wrist presence of a Breitling over Rolex

Hi all

New poster here

I have a navitimer fighters with brushed steel bracelet

My wife bought this for me in 2003 for my 30th

Does anyone know if it will have increased in value??

I still have the box and associated paperwork.

Cheers

Dan.

Value will be a fraction of the original price I'm afraid, just like virtually every other Breitling. Advice on current pricing is in the FAQs - completed auctions on eBay or listings on Chrono24 (bearing in mind that those are dealer asking prices). Welcome to BreitlingSource.

I don't remember new for one of these but I'm guessing it was in the $4-5000 range. Condition aside, it hasn't gained in value but if its in great shape and running well, I'm not sure 'fraction', while technically correct, gives the right impression. I just bought one on bracelet with new crystal, full B&P and warranty, in the low $3K range, and a white dial model which looked to be in good condition sold in that range, maybe just a little more, about a year ago. That one may have sold here. Look on ebay, other online sources as well.

Again, condition means a lot. Also as a nine-year watch, it should have had at least one service by now.

In 2011 I purchased a SO Steelfish with the white dial. It was all downhill from there.

Thanks for the replies

The watch has had 1 service since new

I did speak to my local Breitling dealer about having another service done but they said unless I notice it loosing or gaining time there should be no need

The watch is in perfect condition as I only wear it when I'm not at work, so mainly weekends. Otherwise it sits in its travel case.

I know these watches are made for wearing but if I broke it I'd be devastated, plus I'd probably end up paying for a divorce too!!!'
