I'm with you about this forum and the people in it. Through it I found my AD and the exact Olympus I wanted and the people have been great. They have given my great advice on all the questions I've asked, some pretty basic. :D

Thanks Jackson - I won't be leaving. I like this forum way too much :)

Just bummed that I don't have a Breitling in the wheelhouse to put in my signature anymore.

I have, at this time, just one Breitling. It's the one I always wanted but never got around to buying. There are a few new ones that gather my interest a little, but not enough to make it my next watch. I just sold a fabulous Steelfish to buy a higher level watch. I'd like another run at one of those, but I still might want a good condition Headwind some day.

There are people here who are Breitling devotees. There are also people here who own a lot of varieties of watches. I have seen more and learned more about watches from my few months here than I have anyplace else. Chances are, I may be a one-Breitling guy for a long time, but this is still my number one watch spot. People follow all watches and if they come with prejudices, they lay it out there. There is not the petulant fan-boyism that comes with a lot of Rolex, Omega or Panerai devotees. When the people here are upset, it's in part because they have cared about Breitling's place in the watch world, and they don't want it to diminish. And at least for some of those who no longer own a Breitling, they're upset, but they didn't take their ball and go home, either.

I think I want my next big watch purchase, whenever that is, to be a JLC. That doesn't mean I'm any less interested in what goes on here, or that I won't change my mind. There is a Rolex renaissance going on around here, but it doesn't mean they don't care about Breitling anymore. It's a vibrant community of people all at different points on their journey as collectors of wonderful little living mechanical beings we wear on our wrists. Good to hear you're sticking around. And by the way, that late-model Deepsea is becoming one of my favorite Rolexes--nice choice.

Don't worry bud, I think 30% of the members on here have jumped ship from Breitling ,and they still post. I have jumped ship to Panerai. This forum opened me up to other brands ,and I am beginning to think Breitling was just a stepping stone for me.

My biggest beef with the Milguass is the lighting bolt second hand. It just strikes me as gimmicky, and an unusual design choice by a typically conservative brand.

That's probably the thing I like the best about it. That one thing is so un-Rolex but the rest of the watch, to me at least, feels just as good as any other Rolex I've handled. And I love the white dial, it's just a really different watch that I would love to own.

+1. If it had a date it'd be perfect. Actually it had a date AND AR coating it'd be perfect. I can't believe that all the Breitling or ex-Breitling owners here don't complain about the lack of AR coating on rolexes. It's one of the great features of Breitling watches -- the way the crystal disappears at certain angels. It's even more noticeable on the new rolex models that have an AR coating under the cyclops but not on the rest of the crystal. All the pictures I see have a clear date but the rest of the crystal is hazy and full of reflections.

That's personal choice of course but I totally agree with Roff's school of thinking on this one: I didn't buy my Lings to sell them sometimes down the road or exchange them for that matter. I love them too much for that and I know I would regret it if I did.

Having more than a couple of other collections, I would never part of an item in my collections to get another one.

My thoughts only though.

The glare off a Rolex crystal is a Rolex "thing". I don't see it changing.

I know this is a Breitling forum but I have to agree Brieiting's "new" direction leaves a big question mark in my head - I don't care for it.

I bought a Steelfish to give my Sub a break on the weekend abuse. It has served it purpose well and it is a great watch. But, in Brietling's new direction it has been discontinued. I don't get it.

My next watch will be another Rolex or another Zenith.
