Is it just me or does the fact that people actually thought the World would be 64mm show how ridiculous some of the new designs have been that a 64mm Breitling would even seem possible. Anyway this is way to big for a chronomat in my opinion. Why didn't they just put this movement into a b4b GMT or make a SA GMT? Both of those would have made more sense than a 47mm chronomat.

Well I'm going to go out on a limb on this one and say that I love it! As some of you know I've totally warmed to the Buck Rogers bezel over the last year, and IMO the added GMT complication plus the added couple of mm is a great thing.

If I'm being honest, 45mm wouldve probably been enough but 47mm should be fine as they've kept with the contrasting coloured rehaut which makes the dial appear smaller than it is. In that regard I think the extra mm is a very good idea. I also think the 43.7mm case wouldve made the GMT dial look a little cramped with the extra hand and the 24hr track and well.

I seriously hope they make a brushed version as well, as the Chronomat 01 LE looks awesome brushed, but all in all I really like it. The in-house side is where all the good stuff is happening IMO - the Transocean, the Navi, the Chronomat, and now this one. And while I fully appreciate the bezel isn't everyones cup of tea (heck it wasn't mine for ages!) I really believe these models are pushing Breitling in the right direction, instead of all that DLC and coloured rubber nonsense they've been churning out lately. Well done Breitling I say!

Speaking of the rehaut, I just noticed that it's not a square 2 faceted design anymore. That's one of my favorite parts of the Chronomat design. I wish they kept it on this model.

i'm sure they simply reversed the numbers due of typo...

Unless I misunderstood Sergio for a second time, I'm pretty sure he already admitted he was joking when he said it would be 64mm.

Yes, it was clearly a joke. Anyone who would actually believe that a 64mm watch was in production needs their head examined....althought who knows anymore what the braintrust at Breitling are capable of. And I totally agree with Ian...I hate it.

I like it! I'm glad to see them at least offering something a little larger in the Chronomat line-up for those of us who don't have a problem with larger watches. I could see it being more of a problem for everyone if they were moving the entire line-up to 47mm. Variety is good. And I love the GMT function... I'm always a sucker for that. This could be a fantastic vacation/travel/all-around watch.

Thanks for posting the pic Don! I think it'd look great on you buddy! I'm looking forward to seeing what kind of dial options they come up with.

Cheers

Ross

It's a nice try but really doesn't work for me personally.

I prefer the size, rehaut and hour markers of the existing B01.

I am one of the few fans of the bezel font and would happily own a B01 one day.

Adding the new in-house GMT movement into the Navi World would have made so much more sense to me.

Hey Ross,
once again we're on the same sheet! I am anxious to see what it will look like in person and what dial combos become available. I like the same points; GMT function and size. I hope the World doesn't go way, just gets the new movement. Cheers buddy!

It looks good. Will look better in person.

47mm is perfect.

:yeahthat

I perfectly agree with you ricardo.

But I would like to see one with romans instead of the ubiquitous batons. It may change the face considerably. Who knows? Maybe I'll see on in metal in less than 48 hours now.

Everytime I see this thread I get pissed off. Why 47mm?! When I heard about a GMT Chronomat I got really excited, I like the B01 a lot and I love pretty much anything with a GMT but anything over 45mm, and that's pushing it, is just too big for me. And it's not like I have tiny wrists either, they're 7.5". Oh well.

Personally I like the idea that it's 47mm, although as I said in my first post in this thread 45mm would probably have been spot-on, although I bet at 47mm it'll still wear smaller than a 46mm Navi World on account of the smaller dial area. I think part of the reason for the size increase is that the GMT complication (i.e. the additional hand and the 24 hour track required on the dial) would've made the already busy existing Chronomat 01 dial way too crowded. There's a lot going on on the Chronomat 01 dial (surfaces, textures, fonts, etc), so I think adding all the GMT paraphanelia would've compromised legibility.

Just as an aside, Roman, I'm surprised you find 47mm too big on 7.5" wrists. Mine are only a little bigger, and anything up to 48mm fits just fine. All a matter of personal preference though I guess.

I think with romans the face would look WAY too overcrowded. Looks crowded just with the batons.

Admittedly, I tend to not be a fan of romans to begin with.
