It would be the Colt Quartz II for me! Like many others on this forum, the Breitling SQ is the only quartz watch I would ever consider. And I would be very proud to own one again.
The Colt Quartz was my first Breitling, purchased in the late 80's if my memory serves me correctly. I paid $575CAD for it. It had a rubber strap on it. When the strap finally gave out in 1997, I went to a local AD to see if I could get stainless bracelet for it. Turned out there were none that could be fitted, I guess the end link and possibly the lug width were the problem. While at my AD, I was drooling over a Colt Superocean automatic (in 1997, the Superocean has the Colt designation). It was $1900. The AD offered me $800. for my Colt Quartz, toward the Superocean. I couldn't believe my luck, as I had no idea then that watches were even resellable, let alone worth anything for a trade in!! Anyway, I had the Superocean for over 10 years.
Needless to say, for more reasons than one, I am an admirer of the Colt Quartz. Matter of fact, every time I visit my AD he seems to have one in the display case: black dial with PRO II bracelet. And every time I try it on. Maybe one day again!
Cheers,
Carl

Recently purchased my first Breitling a couple months ago after many years of debate with the amount of money one of these bad boys costs. Being a military aviator I was naturally drawn to the Airwolf and attempted to order one on-line which fell through. Actually glad that deal didn't go through because a month later I finally made it to a AD and looked at a bunch of the Breitlings I had been admiring on-line in person. Once I saw the Seawolf Chrono with brushed steel finish and black dial, I was hooked.

For my line of work having a precise time piece is very beneficial. The SQ tolerances help me synchronize the systems in my aircraft to times that require +/- 3 seconds accuracy. So far my SWC has been holding at about one second fast a month. Great watch, durable, precise and looks tough as hell.

Semper Fi!

Anything that doesn't require a battery.

If you had to include a SQ Ling in your collection; which one would it be?

For me it's the M1. I've owned one for a while now and it's great!

Another vote from me for the B1 (or Airwolf non turbine dial), perfecttravel/holiday watch with GMT and loud alarm. 8)

For me it's the B-1. I have owned an Airwolf, Emergency Mission, and M-1 as well, but my one and only super-quartz is the B-1. I love the fit, size, and of course the fighter bracelet. I will say that in my opinion, the most functional tool watch is the SWC or CA M-1 with it's under water capabilities. A SWC Blacksteel is on the horizon. 8)

I completely agree about the accuracy and usefullness in aviation. Semper Fi!

Well, this thread has really got me thinking about a Colt Quartz II - very seriously. I am actually considering selling or trading my almost brand new Seawolf for one. Still have to think on it a bit. I have wanted one of those ever since I traded my first Colt Quartz at my AD in 1997. My AD might even consider doing a trade with my Seawolf. My last Seawolf was traded there for a midsize Omega SMP, so there is always a chance. I am going in to see them on Saturday, and try on the black dial that I saw there, if they still have it.
Another reason for my thinking seriously about the Colt, is because I have trouble reading the time on my Seawolf yellow dial at times. I sometimes have to put on my reading glasses. Just at certain times of the day, when it starts to get dark. It is a shame, because I really love the yellow dial on this watch.
Mostly, I would not want anything other than an automatic or even a manual wind would be nice. Like I say, though, if I was ever to get a quartz movement watch, it would be a Breitling. Definitely not your average quartz watch!
Cheers,
Carl

Well as my 1st Breitling is in for service I was looking around for a Steelfish and came across this. I had originally see it at a shop in Vegas when I was there last year and took a chance when a 2nd hand one came up for sale in good condition with all the paperwork. It arrived yesterday. :D

Lovely dial. The original croc strap is off while I do a clean on it but I had this nice alligator strap so that is on it at the moment. Set yesterday to the atomic clock and still spot on today but as SuperQuartz is supposed to be within 15 seconds a year then I am not expecting any major variations. And as I change the times on the watch twice a year for BST then the most it should be out is 8 seconds. OK a radio controlled Casio/G-Shock will be more accurate but they are not as lovely as this.

That is a beauty! :yeahthat That dial looks great with brown alligator or croc, and would look good also with brown calf.
Great looking crono! Love how Breitling puts the second hand with the Bretiling B on there as well.
The Colt line is one of the best IMO, often overlooked and underestimated because many consider the models "entry level". If I could have only one watch, I would be more than proud for it to be a Colt model! :lingsrock:
Cheers,
Carl

I am not a fan of watches with digital readouts, for me it would be the Colt Super Q II. It was my first Ling and served me flawlessly for 2 years in Iraq. In fact he just got a new battery and a clean/polish job while I was home this past week.

By the way I thought I would furnish a wrist shot of my "Lil guy" after his scrub n rub n power job.
