I would make the trade.

I own a Submariner and a Super Avenger and the Rolex sees more wrist time. It's dependable, and the movement is uber-smooth compared to any Breitling movement.

Hey,

i dont think this deal is going to happen now....he loves his dssd but now wants a diamond bezel for it lol!

plus i dont think i could live with the size...ive got quite big arms and the first breitling i bought was a graphite chonomat evo but it just looked too small on me...so thats when i got the Super Avenger and im happy with its style and size,

so looks like im keeping the SA.

A diamond bezel on the DSSD that i would like to see !!

It is not recommended to remove the bezel from the DEEPSEA as you would most likely
damage the bezel retainer ring , doing so , and Rolex will not sell any parts you,,

See how the bezel is fitted to the DSSD

If you opened this thread, it means you're hesitating and you'd really like to keep your SA, otherwise you'd made the swap already.

I would definitely keep the SA but then again, I hate Rolex and what it stands for.

@ Flynbyu: Do you mean to say that the SA is unreliable?

No, not at all. I love the Super Avenger, but it's guts are the same as other timepieces.

As you know, Rolex uses their own movements. Their movements aren't near as noisy or as noticeable as the Valjoux 7750.....err....Breitling Caliber 13. Of course, comparing the Sea Dweller/Submariner to a Super Avenger is not a fair comparison, even though they are for divers. The movement of the Rolex is smooth, and is un-noticeable when its riding on your wrist unlike the Super Avenger and others that feature the same movement. That's one of the things that separate Rolex from other timepieces.

In my opinion, the movement for the Sea Dweller/Submariner is superior to the Valjoux 7750.

Just curious, why do you hate Rolex and what do you think Rolex stands for?

Actually, it has nothing to do with Rolex itself or the movements they use.

It has more to do with what kind people is wearing it and why. No offense intended at you or at any other members here but...

When I was a kid, all those show off guys just had to be seen with a Rolex. And most of them had the entry level (I think) model, I do not remember what is it called (or care to remember) but the one that had red and blue dial or bezel or the contrary. As a Senior, at least half of the guys at my class had one and they made sure that everyone else noticed they were wearing a Rolex. Of course, other than the fact that they wearing a Rolex I wonder if they knew anything else on the watch. That model was an instant hit to the pleasure of the local AD, whose son of course was at my class and had made sure to "launch" that mode. Wearing a Rolex meant that you had succeeded in life, so you had to show it off. And I hate that mentality which is very often met at the parts of the world I'm coming from. Much like the Mercedes brand, as long as there is the star on the hood, it's all that counts because it must cry out, I succeeded in life, have you? For me, if you have really succeeded in life doesn't need to be shown off, people will notice sooner or later and by themselves.

That is when I promised to myself that that was a watch brand I would never buy even though they have some models that I actually like.

To the contrary, since I got my B01 back in January, not that I try to hide it of course (no reason to, after all it was bought with the fruit of my hard labor), people keep asking questions about it all the time, they keep telling me that it looks awesome or they want to know more details about it, and at moments I just wonder not only how they've spotted it so fast but is it showing off that much? To the contrary, when you wear a Rolex, sure everybody knows it's a Rolex but they never start asking questions about this or that, or do they?

I'm not offended at all by your post. I understand where you are coming from. I would have hated the "fad" more than the brand.....I'm not one for following others....this is why a cult would never work for me. LOL

I'm sure there are many people that buy Rolex brand timepieces just because of the name. After all, it is probably the most recognized brand of timepieces in the world. As for mine, I've owned my Submariner since 2006. It has been very functional for me. It's logged nearly a hundred hours of dive time in the Caribbean in four years, and a few hundred hours of flight time here stateside.

That is very true but I guess your Rolex had hardly anytime left for showing off purposes

But I'm also curious, on what equipment were the flying hours?

Flight time? I have acquired most of my flight time in various single engine aircraft....Mainly C150, 172, 182, and a PA-28. I'm extremely proud of the 1.3 hours I have in a T-6 Texan. Best $300 I ever spent.
